@AzPetrich The reason why Clarence's argument falls flat is that argument would imply that Indigenous Americans aren't citizens. Also, the original writer of 14A never claimed it only applies to former slaves.

Besides, SCOTUS' job is to interpret the Constitution, not the writers' intent.
