@MrJames__321 @jdmarrs@Kasparov63 The answer must be a "Yes". Otherwise you're saying it's ok for the 9 nuclear countries to divy the entire world (because as long as you have a nuclear weapon, land grabs are unchallenged). And since nuclear powers will not challenge each other, what happens to the colonies is ok
@klew99_@5thDegreeNSight@IngrahamAngle Just wanted to show there was uncertainty. I think DNC gonna push Buttigieg for now (Iowa results conveniently stuck with him and Sanders tied). Bloomberg is not in the picture until Super Tuesday. Hilary or Michelle in the race would be surreal (though can't put it past DNC).
@5thDegreeNSight@klew99_@IngrahamAngle OP named Sanders, Warren, Biden. There are 8 others. Can't know if you mean those 2 specifically if you don't mention it.
@klew99_@5thDegreeNSight@IngrahamAngle Maybe, although I think there's a political realignment in progress and ''left''/''right'' are not as clear in their meaning as they once were. Everyone's fed up with the Status Quo, and so far the Republicans are responding to this realignment quicker than the Democrats.
@klew99_@5thDegreeNSight@IngrahamAngle I feel like they already are. One thing I can get behind the Republicans on is how quickly they have realigned their party position to reflect the opinions of the electorate. Meanwhile, DNC has fingers in their ears. Hope to see Bernie vs Trump in the general.
@klew99_@IngrahamAngle I used police more of as an example of a socialist construct: it's a socially funded service but is not exclusive in the market. I do, however, agree that these areas should be more invested in, and are underrepresented in the elections.
@klew99_@IngrahamAngle These are the main ones.
And let's not forget that somebody is already paying - insurance. The proposed price of Bernie's plan was $34 trillion in 10 years. US citizens paid $3.5 trillion in a single year of 2017. By my calculations, that's already cheaper. (2/2)
@klew99_@IngrahamAngle Well, it's not free by definition, but there're good reasons to think the gains would offset the cost:
1. Better conditions to negotiate lower prices overall
2. Less overhead expenditures (insurance premiums at every step)
3. Healthier working population = healthier economy.(1/2)
@klew99_@IngrahamAngle You know what's the problem with capitalism? Infinite growth is not possible. Both this and your statement are oversimplified. Do you have a local a police force? Is it publicly funded? Can people still get a better service by contracting a security company if they can afford it?
@klew99_@IngrahamAngle That's because major political undertakings take time to come into effect. Look at what I've wrote, a 1999 legislation to remove financial restrictions on banks was directly related to 2008 financial crash.
@klew99_@IngrahamAngle Also:
Voted against NAFTA;
Voted against war in Iraq (both 1991 and 2002);
Voted against Gamm-Leach-Bliley Act (reducing financial regulations on banks, which eventually lead to 2008 crash);
Voted against Patriot Act; (8/9)
@klew99_@IngrahamAngle Introduced legislation to break up major Wall Street banks ''too large to fail'';
Authors a bipartisan $16.5 billion veterans bill passed in 2014; (7/9)
@klew99_@IngrahamAngle Increases funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program;
With Sen. Chuck Grassley authors ammendment to economic recovery bill assuring laid-off US workers are not replaces with underpaid foreign nationals;
Secures $12.5 billion for the Affordable Care Act; (6/9)
