@Sold1st_class For me it took like 200 hours to get Rebirth's platinum. So I agree getting a platinum for a game should take time and effort to obtain it and not be a complete cakewalk to get.
Combat(Crtical mode):
The combat was genuinely awful in the beginning because you get one shot by EVERYTHING. But around the halfway point, you finally get the skills you need to properly dodge, block, and Reflect, which felt great until every boss basically became:
Spam Reflect.
Hit the enemy five times so you don’t trigger their counter mechanic.
Back up.
Reflect their next combo.
Repeat.
My biggest issue with Critical Mode is that if you’re at the recommended level for a world, you can breeze through it with zero issues, which is what I did in the second half of the game. But if you’re even two or three levels behind, you can get rocked for making one simple mistake. It doesn’t felt like an actual difficulty increase and more just anti-fun imo.
The Drive Forms, aside from Wisdom Form, are all VERY cool, and I hope to see them return in the next games.
Reaction Commands during fights were also really cool. Despite all my issues with Xemnas, his entire fight, every single form, had some cool ass Reaction Commands.
Overall Combat: 4/10
@Fenrithial Yeah it's almost as if Rebirth is a semi open world game where you have options for what you wanna do while playing and if you wanna focus on one thing and ignore the other you can do that.
People will bitch about anything and the FF7 community is such a big example of that.
