@ValerieUTD That was the part of Nigeria's history I hated the most.
Soldiers killed their fellow (igbo) soldiers. Not in the battle field but on their bed, in the officers Mess. Max Siollun's account of the event recorded that almost 90% of Igbos in the military were eliminated. Dark era

@Okafor_Harrii@Ony1nyechi I haven't seen you people beg us to join DSS, NNPC, Customs, etc.
Why this sudden desperation for us to join the Army as "recruits"?
Is there something you're not telling us, you emergency lovers of Ndigbo?
Lol the last time Nigeria was actually defeating Boko Haram was when an Igbo man was Chief of Army Staff. Lt Gen Azubuike Ihejirika, 2010 to 2014. He created the 7th Division, armed the soldiers and took territory back. For once Boko Haram was losing.
Then the conspiracy started from the North.
Northern politicians, notably Muhammadu Buhari in his 2013 BBC Hausa interview, said the Federal Government was killing Northern youth and that Boko Haram fighters should get amnesty like Niger Delta militants. At the same time a whisper campaign spread. That this Igbo General was not fighting terror but using the war as a pretext to avenge the Civil War. An Igbo man who went to save Borno was accused of going to punish the North.
To finish him an Australian negotiator Stephen Davis claimed Ihejirika himself was sponsoring Boko Haram. It made no sense. How can the hunter be accused of feeding the beast. Ihejirika denied it and went to court but the damage was done.
In January 2014 he was removed. What happened after. The army collapsed. Boko Haram took 14 local governments, declared a caliphate in Gwoza, took Bama and Chibok. The man who was winning was removed because his victory did not serve politics.
You politicized the army, turned promotion to patronage and justice to tribe. Now you call on Igbo youths who value their lives to bring those lives to your altar of bloodlust. To die for an army that sits on a mat with terrorists in the North and parades Igbo boys half naked on the road in the South East.
An Igbo man is not built for hypocrisy. Our culture celebrates only integrity and accountability.
This is why they stay away.
If you are a man read this!!!
One of the best things you can do for yourself as a man is to set clear rules and boundaries early!!!
Mood swings…
Taking your anger out on me…
Comparing me to other men…
Expecting me to suffer just because you, as my woman, are suffering…
These are things you must address before you decide to take any woman seriously!!!
Point 4 is the main point of this post!!!
1 No grown woman should wake up in a bad mood and decide to make it your problem. If she is not feeling good, she can take her space and handle her day without making you walk on eggshells. Her bad mood is not your responsibility to carry. The first time this happens, make your position clear!!!
2 Never accept a woman taking her anger out on you because of someone else’s actions. If her boss treats her badly at work, that gives her no right to treat you badly at home. She knows how to control herself around people like her father, her boss, her pastor and other me. she respects, so you deserve that same respect. Her bad day is not your fault and you should never be forced to pay for it!!!
3 Never accept a woman comparing you to another man or telling you to behave like someone else’s man/husband. If she does it, make it clear that you will not tolerate that disrespect. If she keeps doing it, fling her away, such relationship is not worth keeping!!!
4 Your woman’s stress does not automatically have to become your stress. If work puts pressure on you, that does not give you the right to make her life harder. The same rule applies to her. If she has to stay up at night or spend more time caring for the baby, that does not mean both of you must suffer unnecessarily. A relationship should be about sharing responsibilities, not spreading misery. If one person is struggling, the other should help, not create more problems.
You should ALWAYS discuss your expectations, your boundaries and how you expect to be treated in any relationship.
But talking is not enough. Make sure you are with a woman who listens, respects your judgment, and is willing to work with you to build a peaceful relationship!!!
Never normalize disrespect and stupid behavior in a relationship or marriage!!!
Reason I think begging a woman to be in your life is an aberration of the natural process.
For all the things men are to women, they should beg to be in your life. Beg you to take them under your protective wings and care for them for a lifetime.
I will never understand you chasing a woman for the opportunity to spend on her, love her to death and serve her.
Why I think approaching, placating and persuading a woman to be with you is a move of subservience and a bane of society.
