Living an enchanted life means different things at different stages along the path. Before beginning, the world seems mundane: go to school, get a job, make money, buy things, do what you’re supposed to do. Then something begins to feel hollow, and we go looking for more. We discover magick, meditation, gods, angels, spirits, hidden worlds. Reality suddenly becomes mysterious again. But if we keep going, eventually we discover that the forces we were searching for outside ourselves were actually within us all along. The division between the spiritual world and the ordinary world begins to collapse.

Then enchantment takes on an entirely different meaning. You return to the same world you once wanted to escape, only now you realize it was never mundane. You wash the floor with the same attention you would give to cleaning the body of God. You prepare food as an offering. You listen to another person as if the creator of the universe were speaking to you. The later stages of the path aren’t about finding more extraordinary experiences. What the ARE about is becoming completely intimate with ordinary life. You leave this world searching for the enchanted one, only to eventually discover that the enchantment was here all along. You just couldn’t see it yet.

People keep saying "DMT" like it's one thing. It's not.

n,n-DMT: machine elves, alien architecture, a palace made of living geometry. You go somewhere and something is waiting.

5-MeO-DMT: white light. No entities. No visuals. No you. You don't go anywhere. You dissolve.

One shows you the most complex thing a human brain can produce. The other erases the human entirely.

@geraldposner @jk_rowling @KDansky As someone who grew up watching women fight for sex-based protections, it is extraordinary to see lawmakers hesitate to state that pregnancy is a biological function of women. Equality should not require erasing the category women.

Obviously lacking the 16k resolution and processor speed of the dmt technology.
