Every moment we fall into sin is a stark reminder of how greatly dependent on God we ought to be at all times. Many times, we truly do not understand how fickle, perverse and empty we are apart from God’s grace, and nowhere is this more evident than in our neglect of prayer.
"If Jesus was God, why didn't He just say it?"
I used to ask that as a Muslim.
I thought I had Christians cornered. Then I actually read the Bible I was criticizing.
And I realized I wasn't looking for evidence. I was looking for a specific sentence.
But does God need your preferred wording to still be God?
Because God said: "Before Abraham was, I AM."
The Jews immediately picked up stones to kill Him. Why?
Because they knew exactly what He was claiming.
He wasn't just saying He existed before Abraham.
He was identifying Himself with the "I AM" of Exodus 3:14.
The divine name of Yahweh.
And here's what wrecked me:
The Quran calls Jesus the Messiah: The Word of God. A Spirit from God. Born of a virgin. Sinless and alive today. Returning to judge the world.
Yet I'm supposed to believe He's just another basic prophet?
No other prophet gets that description. Not Moses, David, Abraham or Muhammad.
Then you open the Bible and Jesus forgives sins, accepts worship, claims authority over heaven and earth, and rises from the dead. So no, Jesus never walked around saying, "I'm God, worship Me" in the exact sentence structure I demanded.
He did something far more powerful: He lived it, He proved it.
And honestly, after reading the Scriptures for myself, the problem wasn't that Jesus wasn't clear.
The problem was that I didn't want to hear Him.
John 14:21
-He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.
John 14:21
-He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” (1 Peter 3:15) #Alaska
"Jesus never said, 'Worship Me.'"
I used to say that as a Muslim.
Then I thought about it more. Your boss never says, "Bow to me," either.
Yet everyone in the office knows exactly who has authority.
Authority is recognized by how people respond to it, not just by the exact words used.
That's why this argument never made sense to me once I actually read the Bible.
After the resurrection, the disciples fell down and worshiped Jesus. He didn't stop them. In John 9, the man born blind said, "Lord, I believe," and worshiped Him. Jesus didn't correct him.
In Revelation 5, all of heaven worships the Lamb.
Not an angel, Not a prophet: The Lamb.
And if Jesus were merely a prophet, accepting worship would have been blasphemy. Instead, He received it.
That's because Jesus never walked around with a slogan saying, "Worship Me." He did something far more powerful.
He forgave sins and He claimed divine titles.
He accepted worship and He rose from the dead.
And the people closest to Him didn't just admire Him. They bowed.
That's the point.
“Salvation is free! God puts no price tag on the Gift of gifts—it’s free! … Money can’t buy it. Man’s righteousness can’t earn it. Social prestige can’t help you acquire it. Morality can’t purchase it.” —@BillyGraham

John 12:42-43
-Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him.But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved human praise more than praise from God.
-Confess Him now.

If you are given the opportunity to make a decision for a team or an organization, that is your greatest opportunity to sell the wisdom of God. Don’t gamble with such opportunities.
Many people have wasted relevance by pushing their personal interest and that of their friends at strategic moments. Go for God’s will at anytime even if it disfavors you. Let it always be about God. If you are given the opportunity to make decisions a thousand times, enquire for God’s wisdom and employ it a thousand times. This is how to sustain relevance.
