@scottylad2 On one where paying any grade nurse triple time would still cost less overall than the cost of an agency nurse. Of course double time would be acceptable but when the NHS is spending £300k + in one month in one hospital for agency I think its time to look after our own staff

@xrpbobscott @HumzaYousaf Agency nurses have been the reason the nhs is still functioning - agencies are one of the reason it’s failing. Pay nurses a fair OT payment and the majority who are agency staff would also be better off paying less tax etc

@xrpbobscott @HumzaYousaf I “grabbed my figures” from the true cost of an agency shift - the take home pay of the agency nurse isn’t the same as the cost of hiring one. The exorbitant cost the agency charges for the pleasure of them taking the NHS’s money. They also charge the NHS just to put out a shift.

@HumzaYousaf How can you legitimise paying agency’s £1k+ per nurse, per shift and refuse to pay a decent overtime rate to nurses who work in the dept?
Triple time for a nurse would be approx a third of the cost of one shift but would mean a massive amount to the nurse able to work the shift.

Every other union in Scotland continues to fight for a fair wage rise. Elsewhere in uk - unison are still calling for strike action. Time for me to move to @RCNScot
