If the restaurant paid the national average wage ($27) they would have to add $7 to each person's meal.

So my $120 bill would become about $135.

@kirawontmiss In this example , it would be typical for a waiter to have 4 or 5 tables on the go at any one time, for a couple of hours. So in a 6 hour shift, maybe 10-12 tables.

The restaurant pays $3.50x6 = $21.
The expected tip would be $24x10 = £240.
So the effective hourly rate is $43!!

@Imtherealanon I was thinking that yesterday. I know there are plenty of episodes they cannot show these days. But to go back to the beginning and start again one in the 60s, followed by 70s, 80s, 90s would be 2 hours of diverse music. Listening to Eurythmics twice in 20 mins was a lot

I am going to receive a bonus. It will be paid by PAYE, and will make my monthly pay that month go over £8334 - so will I lose part of my tax free allowance, or will that only happen later in the year if my YTD income exceeds £100k?
