@Gp2Joey Lehto’s ambitions realistic for start of season “for the team there is no continuity with a new engine supplier you know so we are learning, are we slower than Forti? Maybe they are doing low fuel to get sponsorship? I don’t know”
@Gp2Joey@BBV10s@autosport Hoping Mugen have found some upgrades, if not I wonder how long JJ, having now turned 30 over the winter will continue to enjoy F1? Especially after a season at Brabham that took wind out of his sails.
Salo’s trajectory still on the up but needs a good year. 🇫🇮😎🤞
@Gp2Joey Lehto thinks midfield will be tight in 96 “we tried a few off the wall set up changes today you know, the car has a lot of flexibility that way but I need to be more confident in the power, it feels like we are holding back”
@Gp2Joey Wow Honda quite prominent on the back of the engine cover ….. has Ken managed to convince the factory to back Mugen even more or is there more to this? 👏🏻
@Gp2Joey Lehto full of praise for Gascoyne “Mike has designed something phenomenal here you know! But we have work to do engine wise I think, Mugen guys seem a bit spooked by reliability we need max power!” 😎🇫🇮
@Gp2Joey Really hoping the beautiful 96 Tyrrell is as effective early season as it was in the ‘other universe’ Salo was a proper giant killer early on, will JJ be able to do the same? One suspects that’ll depend on how effective the 96 Mugen is! 🤞
@Gp2Joey Nokia obviously decided F1 is where Mika needs to be! He dominated Jos in Quali in 95 but suffered awful luck on race days hopefully Arrows have got a handle on this, new Hart power unit promising!
@CiaranPlan@PrixPacific Ukyo was very good in 94 I remember, really kept Blundell on his toes, he was one of the standouts of a difficult year, he didn’t fair so well in 95/96 against Salo, Blundell put it down to his weight relative to Ukyo’s I seem to remember.
@PrixPacific Salo has a firm offer on the table from Ganassi for CART, linked to Nokia wanting to push into the US market @Gp2Joey has advised him at the end of season party in Adelaide to hold on as long as he can, he suspects Nigel may have had enough!
@PrixPacific Think he’s kidding himself! Benetton test seat maybe but Ukyo’s been woeful frankly, Flav’s far too shrewd to offer him a race seat but a test seat could get more money out of JT!
Personally think Nigel will be persuaded to stay but if not maybe Salo takes his seat?
@Gp2Joey JJ’s always been a better racer than a qualifying expert , although sadly that’s probably gone against him in the long run and sadly means he’ll never get another chance to run at the front. 🤦🏻♂️
