As the Scriptures say,
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.” So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish.
- 1 Corinthians 1:19-20
@smackDaddy0@ScottPresler That would be fantastic. The possibilities are endless. I'm not anti data center. The true good of the citizens has to come first. Thats all. There's propaganda coming from a lot of different directions on this topic.
Being the global leader in AI and advanced technologies is very important. Competing with China definitely matters. A strong economy and healthy stock market matter. However, America is not a corporation or an economic zone. It’s a nation of people. Every policy conversation, whether it’s about data centers, immigration, or anything else, should begin with one principle...optimize quality of life for American citizens.

It's a good start but if the sales pitch is that you shouldn't have to pay the government rent for your owned primary residence, then it should be zero regardless of property value. Local services should be funded by a low flat fee for all or based on consumption. Property value should be irrelevant.
@FLisMyHome@EricLDaugh Yes. If the sales pitch is that you shouldn't have to pay the government rent for primary property that you own, then it should be zero regardless of property value. Local governments would have to find alternatives to fund local services.
