@JJT_007@McKinleyAn The mass was not that different, to be fair.
We have a biblical core [Mt 26:26-29] surrounded by latter additions meant to educate (sermons and readings), reference the Bible (incense:[Rv 8:4]) or make it more beautiful (songs and such innovations).
Account of St Justin Martyr:
@HomericFuturist The pagan worldview, specifically anglosaxon paganism, is literally a worldview based around a doomed world to be destroyed by time and the gods.
Not only that, but man's choices are entirely irrelevant in the face of fickle, uncaring gods that are more feared than loved.
@MagellanQuest Spanish rich will 99% of times either be cryptobros arriving in a ferrari painted like a can of Monster or a dude dressed in tan pants and a shirt who loves hunting and whose family name is older than half the countries in the world.
@JJT_007@McKinleyAn Bibles were expensive and the vast majority of vernacular translations were commissioned directly by wealthy merchants and noblement.
Furthermore, the Bible was shared through sermons as well as popular culture in vernacular. It was kept for mass in latin out of tradition.
