Don't dwell so obsessively on the future that you get petrified into inaction. Break down big tasks into daily chunks. Whittle your biggest fears into little chunks that you can address a bit at a time. Say: Well done!

to memes, opinion pieces, commentary or other punditry. You have a mind. You understand human behavior. You know what's right and what's wrong. Those are your truest guides.

Today's tip: smile, even if you don't feel like it
Go ahead, do it. Somehow, a grin reworks all of your neurons and your brain says to itself, "Oh, I'm smiling. I must be happy."

Many would call Annie Baker's movie "Janet Planet" a "character study." I just call it amazing. As it quietly observes a mother and 11-year-old daughter, it communicates in looks and silences and contemplative half-smiles. And that, really, is the movie.

Are you indoors, the glow of your screen your only light? Stop that! Walk out into the sunlight. You’ll instantly feel better, Now: Keep walking, or otherwise exercising, and you’ll be stronger too.

Today's tip: meditate
Set a timer for at least 10 minutes. Sit comfortably. Close your eyes. Count slowly to 10 again and again, so that the numbers are all you are thinking about, until the timer goes off. Even if you get restless, stay still and keep counting.

The last week has been very stressful. Maybe you feel powerless. But you CAN take charge. I’m posting a tip a day to relieve stress or boost power.
Today’s tip: Give yourself a task you are good at and follow through. It’ll give you a sense of accomplishment.
