I've been using Twitter less and less of late anyway but the recent surge in popularity of the 'blue butterfly app' has convinced me to reactive my account over there.
I might just jump ship permanently now and close down this hellsite for good.
See you on the lifeboat folks.
@dieworkwear Scottish poster here and I'm not sure which part is the most ridiculous:
A) That we ever see the sun.
B) Thay we don't somehow manage to get sunburnt anyway.
C) That we haven't been deep frying everything not moving since the invention of hot food.
@DrewMcWeeny No one complained of course. This is exactly what everyone had hoped for. Otherwise he was the most friendly and sweet dude with everyone but he knew that we all wanted a scare too and it made for classic photos.
@DrewMcWeeny A few years ago I got a photo with Robert Englund at a con. We had to queue outside & go in one at a time. He was waiting with one hand casually behind his back. As the camera flashed he'd suddenly reveal he was wearing the Freddy glove making most people scream in their picture.
@Lazynotcrazy@anon_opin The difference is that Actor and Waiter were already non-gender specific terms but the words Actress and Waitress were created to suggest that women doing those jobs were somehow lesser. We just need to ditch those words and start talking about female actors.
@BadGeef A popular bit of online trivia is that the screenplay of BACK TO THE FUTURE is commonly used in screenwriting classes as an example of a perfectly structured script so it takes some guts to use it as your example for criticism.
@LG2076News@JohnDoe59659341@DonBluth Yeah the guy being an attention seeking asshole is clearly the respected artist asking people to stop spreading inaccurate stories about a deeply traumatic moment from his life and not the guy who thinks he's a heroic 'truth teller' for randomly attacking him for doing so ...sigh
@Mat_Hunt@PhilMBell@fesshole You've missed my point.
If a sandwich shop hired a supposedly Michelin starred chef, who immediately had to ask a rookie to help them make a cheese toastie, the relative merits of a toastie as a meal are irrelevant to the fact they have clearly hired an incompetent bullshitter.
@Mat_Hunt@PhilMBell@fesshole There's a world of difference between choosing to use more advanced software for data analysis and not being capable of using the basics.
While its not the type of car they are used to, you'd be very concerned if your new F1 driver struggled to start the engine of a Renault Clio
@Briantolley10@anon_opin@petercardwell You can't understand the idea that some people have large families, are disabled or have responsibilities (whether work, caring or other) that uses up all free time (or some combination of the above?)
It's not that complicated.
@ruaraidh1985@davidbirkettsnp@AyoCaesar Can you explain why it isn't sensible and your ways to improve it then?
Ash is pointing out the difficulties faced by those trying to respect everyone at once. Based on your comment it sounds like your solution is to not respect anyone. How is that not worse?
@alanme@fesshole If you've never heard of the idea of an Irish Pub before then I assume you've never set foot outside of Ireland and are in no better place to comment on international relations than the average 'yank.'
They are almost as common worldwide as McDonalds!

@fesshole Hey! Those surveys aren't just an opportunity to steal customers data...
...they also exist to give people the false impression that their feedback has been heard, thus preventing them from making formal complaints to the ombudsman which could actually have some effect.
@E887F90@kokeshimum@fesshole It was an appropriate response to the terrible opinion of someone bootlicking for a broken system designed solely to supply pointless boxticking jobs while humiliating the most vulnerable members of society to an early grave - and that costs considerably more money than it saves.
