Hey everyone,

As some of you may be aware, I decided to put episode 2 of Modern 8-Bit Brothers on YouTube private. The episode’s still up on Newgrounds which I highly recommend people to check it out there instead while I get this sorted out, be warned it’s uncensored compared to the YT version. I am sure this news may come as a surprise to many of you, so I hope to explain why I did so, and hopefully clear up any confusion. (1/3)

@CrimsonKero Noted, plus at least on Newgrounds, I’m able to at least replace the video file without me deleting the published project (I’m planning on doing it once the reupload version’s complete). A necessary feature that YouTube lacks, which I’ll never understand why to this day…

As I am writing this post, I am completely devastated that this has happened, especially since this did not happen last time. The M8BB crew and I worked so hard on this second episode despite some production issues I faced before uploading it.

Going forward, M8BB will ONLY feature original composed music by the talented composers (honestly, huge shoutout to @ChiefZika @SHIMSHON_GAD @sakuramoritani @Druox & @/Packtion for their talented work for the music in M8BB) apart of the show (which in the future, I’m not going to use any music under SEGA since it seems to me they’re more strict about it than Nintendo nowadays), & I’m planning on reuploading episode 2 at some point with the music replaced with original arrangements.

To all of those who watched and enjoyed Modern 8-Bit Brothers’ so far, I genuinely appreciate all of you for your support so does the crew apart of the show. All I ask is please give me time for myself to think how I’ll approach with this fan project in the future because I’ve been meaning to work on other endeavors not only M8BB. (3/3)

Last week, EP#2 was hit with 5 copyright claims from NexTone Inc. for Persona 5 music (NexTone’s in charge of handling SEGA’s copyright regarding their music so it also affects Sonic OST as well) that was used in the video. Despite knowing the slim chances of YouTube exonerating the claims (especially since I’ve been aware of how god awful their copyright system has been since 2024), I tried to dispute the claim under fair use considering I’ve used it before for other videos I’ve made in the past. However, my dispute was unfortunately rejected and I can’t deny this reminded me why I’m not happy how EP1 turned out and both instances drained me emotionally (I’ll talk about it why sometime later on this month).
