Thank you Adarniya @narendramodi ji for approving this crucial connectivity link worth over ₹8,000cr, which will drastically reduce travel time from Guwahati to Tezpur and further towards Arunachal Pradesh.

This will give a major boost to trade, tourism and bolster security preparedness in the region with provision for an Emergency Landing Facility.

Under Hon'ble Prime Minister's leadership, connectivity has received a major boost in Assam and North East, which is accelerating development and opening new doors of development.

On behalf of the people of Assam, we would like to place on record our immense gratitude to Hon'ble Prime Minister for this decision and to Hon'ble Union Minister Shri @nitin_gadkari ji for being so considerate of our requirements.

My best wishes to the inaugural batch of 52 students from 18 states who will enter a new phase of their career. Work on the permanent campus, coming up at an area of over 189 acres is underway in full swing and the Govt of Assam will undertake all measures to complete it soon.

Within just two years of approval, IIM Guwahati begins its first academic session from its transit campus.
