@ItsAestheticsW Uhm do you not know that 100% of them apparently got drafted to Vietnam and also never had a day off or ate at a restaurant in their life and also they all somehow contributed the absolute maximum to SS their entire 40 year careers? Not so lucky huh
I am getting lots of incoming questions about the public execution of Nidal Hasan, mostly because I have been outspoken on wanting public executions for over a decade.
My position is simple: Executions should be public and brutal, not private and medicalized. They are the ultimate example of the state's monopoly on violence, and the only way to keep that from running out of control is to confront voters with the trade they have made every single time, that they might have appropiate confidence or revulsion in the institution.
This is not new thinking. George Washington thought the same. The way we have shifted from hanging to firing squads to doctors quietly injecting chemicals that send our worst gently off to sleep is awful and dystopian, a total short-circuiting of important feedback mechanisms. It makes needless executions more likely, not less so. People who demean this as barbaric or yucky miss the whole point. It doesn't somehow become torture or inhumane (as the UN is suddenly claiming) just because we decline to hide the act behind a curtain.
And then there are those who suggest any revel in the death of those who truly deserve it is an indicator of a broken or diseased mind. To the contrary. It is normal, good, and aligned with our natural and national order. That it has not been done here in 60 years is an indictment in and of itself.
And that is without even getting into the fact that men were not hung for stealing horse, but that horses may not be stolen.
"I would to God that one of the most attrocious in each State was hung in Gibbets, up on a gallows five times as high as the one prepared by Haman. No punishment, in my opinion, is too great for the Man, who can build his greatness upon his Country’s ruin."
- George Washington, 1778
Americans need to pay attention here. This person was allowed to work in America under an H-1B visa, which is a temporary work visa and not intended for immigration. She has somehow made her way into our government and now claiming she represents H-1Bs instead of actual citizens.
Dinesh D’Sousa put up the best argument against legal immigration I’ve ever heard by just sharing his opinions of average Americans, after a life and fortune gifted to him with a visa.
I’m all for banning sportsbooks and sportsbook advertisements.
I’m flat out fucking sick of it.
I’m sick of hearing about people’s parlays.
I’m sick of the fucking ads.
I’m sick of broadcasts PICKS.
I’m sick of prop bets.
Shits ruining sports.
You can’t NOT see it.
"Immigrants are assimilating!"
"Oh, that's really great to hear! So they're not celebrating foreign holidays anymore?"
"No"
"Are they no longer using welfare in disproportionate numbers?"
"No"
"Are they venerating our Founding Fathers?"
"No"
"Do they prefer American cuisine?"
"No"
"They're no longer benefiting from affirmative action?"
"No"
"Those that are business owners are trying to hire Americans first?"
"No"
"They've stopped caring about foreign conflicts that don't directly affect America?"
"No"
"Are they converting to Christianity/Judaism (which the vast majority of American's identify as)?"
"No"
"They've haven't set up ethnic enclaves in cities, right?
"No"
"Are they telling their children not to speak any language other than English outside the home (like past immigrants have)?
"No"
"Are they no longer sending remittances to relatives thousands of miles away?"
"No"
"So, they still have significant ties and affections to their home countries?"
"......Yes."
"Ok, how have they assimilated?"
"They're watching football now, BIGOT!!!"
@danorlovsky7 You are so delusional it’s unreal. Arch was bad all game and bailed out by scared coaching by Day that kept his defense on the field for the entire second half
It is a perfectly reasonable standard for a society to set that if you murder a child, your life is over. If you wanna let an insanity plea spare them from the death penalty? Fine. But they must die in prison. It’s not about punishment. It’s just protection. If you could snap and kill a kid, you simply can’t be trusted around people anymore. No matter what triggered it. This is in no way controversial.
It’s not like these baby killers are out curing cancer or something. They can rot in jail and ask God for mercy. We have become way too tolerant of criminality and way too compassionate towards the dregs of society. We have to stop wasting our compassion on baby killers and drug zombies. We have fire victims in Altadena and the Palisades and Spokane and Paradise (still) who are completely screwed and we are using up all our energy and empathy on the worst people in society. Snap out of it, folks.
