FIFTY FIFTY’s Aran said that she had to have her gallbladder removed.

She had been sick since October 2022, a month before her debut. She thought she had the stomach flu but nothing helped her symptoms, she got an official diagnosis in January 2023. In January, their first comeback Cupid was already planned.

She reported her illness and the doctors’ notes to her manager and continued doing so from that moment onwards.

What had started as an acute bout of cholecystitis, had turned into a chronic version of the disease. She had polyps, which were over 1 centimeter in size, and they had increased in number by the time she finally got the surgery.

She was told that they could progress to cancer.

The doctors recommended surgery right away but Aran did not want to ruin the scheduled comeback so they decided to take the chance and not have her do the surgery.

She kept waiting for the company to give her time off so she could get the surgery, them being updated with her entire situation in real time, but they didn’t.

She spent months on painkillers, not being able to eat even if she was hungry because of poor digestion, not being able to defecate for 20 days, her stomach swollen and she was in constant pain.
