@RottenTomatoes Hey God- since you're taking away everyone who appeared in Home Alone 2- Catherine O'Hara, John Heard, Tim Curry- two of whom you've taken from us just this year, I have another one you can add.
(Not Kevin.)
Prime Minister Netanyahu said yesterday during an interview with Israeli Channel 14 that Iran tried to kill one of his sons.
The same regime tried to also target President Trump and his family. The Islamic regime in Iran must be toppled.
Israel has found the Altalena, 78 years after it sank, a shipwreck tied to one of the most dangerous moments in Israel’s early history.
In 1948, just weeks after Israel declared independence, the Altalena arrived carrying weapons and Jewish fighters for the Irgun. A confrontation over control of those weapons escalated into fighting between the newly formed Israeli military and Irgun members. The ship was shelled and burned off Tel Aviv.
Israel was fighting for its existence while coming dangerously close to Jews fighting Jews.
Menachem Begin ordered his followers not to retaliate and warned: “There will be no civil war.”
The wreck is history. The lesson is not. We can disagree fiercely without destroying each other.
Israel has given the Board of Peace three days to end all kite launches from Gaza or face an escalation.
These aren’t innocent kites. They are launched from Gaza toward Israel, with fears they could carry incendiary devices capable of setting Israeli fields and communities on fire as they previously did.
Hours after her passing, the Wikipedia page of Dolly Parton was vandalized, leaving a swastika and "Jew Lover" prominently displayed.
Dolly Parton meant so much to everyone, including me. She was kind, warm, and treated everyone with humanity. For some, treating Jews with that same humanity is a crime.
The edits have since been removed, but to desecrate a page on someone who has just passed is beyond depraved, whether or not you liked her.
Dolly Parton was one of a kind.
I had the pleasure of crossing paths with Dolly over the years, and she was every bit as memorable, talented and funny as you would imagine.
But beyond the extraordinary talent was something even more important: her heart.
She brought joy to generations of people and left the world considerably better than she found it. She will be missed. 😔
I'm heartbroken to announce that Dolly Parton has died today. I loved Dolly a lot; not in the way you love a celebrity. In the way you love someone who showed you the kind of person it's possible to be.
I think a lot about her "Coat of Many Colors." Her mother sewed her a coat out of rags and, as she stitched, told her about Joseph and his coat. Dolly went to school feeling like a Bible hero. The other children laughed at her. She never forgot what it feels like to be mocked for the thing you were told was sacred, and she spent her whole life refusing to let anyone else feel small. It always felt like such a relatable story.
And that's not the only thing that made her relatable. The man who made her a global star was Sandy Gallin, a Jewish kid from Brooklyn. He convinced her to record "Here You Come Again," written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. He talked her into building Dollywood. They shared an apartment in New York. When he died, she said nobody could understand how the Christian Southern girl and the New York Jewish boy had so much in common. She showed me that people can overcome seemingly insurmountable differences by finding commonality.
A Baptist girl from the Smoky Mountains who never stopped believing people from different worlds could love each other. That's who we lost today.
Rest easy, Dolly. Thank you for everything. 💔
The news of Dolly Parton’s passing is devastating. I had the extraordinary experience of working with her on The Orville, and it was a joy to discover that she really was exactly the person we all hoped she was. Her kindness, generosity, and authenticity were evident from moment one, and the benign yet assured command she maintained over her empire was obvious from the genuine love and trust you could see from everyone who worked for her. The world is a dimmer place today without her.
