@michaelgove@StuartLock I think it’s time to enjoy retirement. Schools who are more welcoming to children with SEN are more likely to be downgraded for inclusion. That is wrong. Simple. I’ve seen schools who actively discourage pupils with SEN get a strong grade for inclusion. Requires Improvement.
@timleunig I’m not saying that’s not a misunderstanding however…. what happens though if everyone achieves? We all just say “great”? No. Media/opposition gov will just say GCSEs are dumbed down etc.
@NigelLaw526509@timleunig He is technically right on this one but he also devised (under consultation/direction I imagine) Progress 8 which is a zero sum game where not every school can be successful.
@daisychristo If schools ignored the performance table rulebook and put borderline grade 4 students in for multiple GCSE entries then logic tells me that more would achieve the standard earlier. Which circles back to whether the measures serve the students or the students serve the measures.
@NABurkinshaw Nothing has sucked my daughters joy of reading out of her faster than Sparx Reader. Absolute slog to get through reading unenjoyable texts and answering tedious questions about minor details.
