Politics aside - one quieter win was the US finally realized that it has to adopt asymmetric warfare strategies. 100 drones are superior to a 1M missile for creating problems. Likewise lasers should be shooting down drones and missiles for pennies. This is essential to defend against terror attacks domestically at airports and sports events.

We finally have a way to lower spending and a motivation to manufacture at scale again like we did during WW2.

Good to hear DoD is finally modernizing. The old DoD would take 4 years to vet a technology before using it, rendering it obsolete by the time of approval unless one of the prime contractors that charge 1,000x what they should charge built it custom within a secure facility. They should automate targeting on AR15s too to avoid civilian casualties and friendly fire. Seems they did for the Venezuela campaign per reports by the locals who noted thousands of bullets firing with unimaginable accuracy.
