[Data in Play @DataInPlay]

Note: a team only draws or commits about 3-5 roughing flags a season, so one or two calls can swing a single year a lot. Each point is a 3-season rolling average to reduce some variance. 1x = league average that season

[Data in Play @DataInPlay]

Which teams get the roughing the passer calls, and which ones get flagged for them? Every team since 2012, compared to the league average:
📈 Bills and Cowboys QBs now draw flags at about 2x the league rate
🧀 Packers QBs have been below average since 2017, while their defense jumped above it this year
🚩 The Jets defense has been flagged at 1.5x+ the league rate since 2019

@Murnasty7019 @nflrefstats1 @packers 4.1 flags per 100 hits is the league average

@OnyxOdds The packers break the chart on roughing the passers drawn vs committed

[Data in Play @DataInPlay]

This one’s a little messy but shows changed in the last 5 years vs the 5 prior to that.

The Packers' offense barely moved (0.64x to 0.70x the league rate), so they've been one of the hardest teams to draw a roughing flag for the whole last decade. Their defense went from 0.8x to 1.1x, getting flagged more.

The biggest movers:
Drawing more: Dallas (0.7x → 1.7x), Buffalo (1.1x → 2.0x) and Carolina (0.7x → 1.5x)
Drawing less: the Rams, Arizona and Chicago
Committing more: New England (0.6x → 1.4x), plus Carolina, Chicago and Tennessee
Committing less: Buffalo and the Raiders, both down 0.7x, and Atlanta

[Data in Play @DataInPlay]

The last 5,10 and 15 years are here.
Bills: they draw the most roughing flags in every window, by a lot, at 5.6 to 6.7 flags per 100 hits (Josh Allen effect)
Packers: below average at drawing flags in all three windows: 2.3 vs. 3.3 league average over 5 years, 2.6 vs. 3.9 over 10 and 3.2 vs. 3.8 over 15. So Love not getting calls fits a longer team pattern that started with Rodgers.
Most called on defense: the Bears over the last 5 years, the Jets over 10 and 15.
Fewest drawn: the Rams over 5 years and the Giants over 10 and 15.

49ers join the list of teams who outgained their opponent but lost. They outgained the Falcons 400-298 and still lost 29-20
🔁 4 turnovers did it
📊 That's the 10th time this season a team lost while gaining 100+ more yards. Rams' +225 vs Denver in Week 3 tops the list

Which of these losses hurt the most?

[Data in Play @DataInPlay]

@Andy_Josker @RapSheet @AdamSchefter Hmm interesting

[Data in Play @DataInPlay]

Red zone report card:

📈 49ers lead in points per red zone trip (about 5.6) and are 6-1
🤔 Vikings are 6-0 while scoring under the league average in the red zone
🧀 Packers are dead last (3.5 points per trip) and still 4-3

Can Green Bay keep winning while settling for (and missing) field goals?
