Nine people have been arrested in connection with a series of motorbike thefts across #WestKent.

Officers carried out multiple warrants across #Kent and London over a 3 week period which resulted in hundreds of pieces of evidence being seized.

🚓 Whilst on patrol in Banbury today, officers from the RCT located this JCB.

👀 Upon checking the vehicle was shown as stolen in 2025.

👍 It has since been recovered, along with a suspected stolen trailer.

An investigation is on going.

In this case, we identified a stolen & cloned vehicle for @Trafficwmp for which the driver was arrested & the vehicle recovered.

72 vehicles checked
22 prohibited for defects
7 seized for insurance/driving licence offences, 2 of which were HGV's
4 persons arrested including a drug driver

PCC Nicolle Ndiweni-Roberts and Deputy PCC Dr Fatima Eltinay visited Tideswell, Buxton alongside the Rural Crime Team to hear directly from a local farmer about how they have worked with our Rural Crime Team, alongside the measures they have put in place to keep their farm and family safe.

Rural crime continues to have a serious impact on farming communities, with issues such as equipment theft, livestock worrying and damage to property placing financial and emotional strain on farmers. Nicolle and Fatima saw first‑hand how these crimes disrupt daily operations and threaten livelihoods.

The Rural Crime Team outlined the proactive work they are doing to tackle these issues – from targeted patrols and intelligence‑led operations to working closely with farmers to improve security and strengthen reporting pathways.

The PCC helped mark some machinery using Datatag, a forensic security marking system, which makes it harder for criminals to steal equipment and machinery.

Nicolle and Fatima will continue supporting efforts to reduce rural crime and ensure farmers feel protected, listened to and confident that action is being taken to safeguard their communities.
