Teachers, Donโt be discouraged if you do things differently than others. Itโs ok to learn from others but donโt think youโre wrong if you do it differently. Everyone has their own talents & passions. Just bring your best self. Just Do You. Thats what your students need.
Coming to the end of this semester and what has been a crazy couple of months, has made me more appreciative of the simple things in life! I look forward to the bigger and better things to come in 2020 ๐โจโจ #acuedu_p
As the online semester comes to a close, I thought we could all relate to this video! Zoom was a great tool. Iโll miss being in comfy clothes and waking up 10 minutes before class! #acuedu_p
Growth mindset cant work until we focus on S's strengths. When we focus on S's weaknesses they are discouraged & hopeless. But if we focus on their strengths it allows them to experience success. Success builds confidence. Then they will try new or harder things. Growth Mindset!
It is essential that teachers create a learning space that reflects their own educational philosophy / the kind of learning they want their students to achieve in the classroom. I want my future learning space to be flexible and collaborative! #acuedu_p
Found this to be very relevant to this weeks focus on building positive relationships with parents. Parents need to feel as if their child's needs and abilities are recognised and cared for within a classroom. This is key to creating trust between a parent and teacher #acuedu_p
Itโs not only important for admin to trust and believe in their teachers as experts but itโs also important for parents to trust and believe in teachers as the experts for their child. Trust is a key to respecting teachers as professionals.
From casual teaching and engaging in EDFD tutorial activities, I have come to understand that in the teaching profession teachers are the most responsible and important members of society because it is our professional efforts that affect the fate of the future #ACUedu_p
In the remaining weeks of this unit, I am intrigued to know more about the accreditation process and ways I can ensure I succeed through the process. I find it extremely helpful hearing experiences from those who have gone through it and any advice they may offer ๐ #acuedu_p
Reflecting on the past 7 weeks, the most profound thing I have learnt would be the importance of the AITSL standards in our transition into teaching. It is vital to know what your strengths are and what you need to work on in order to develop #acuedu_p
It is so important that we keep kids active and engaged in their learning, no matter what the circumstances are. This online resource is full of fun activities to do with them anytime and anywhere!!! #ACUedu_p
Weโve designed 30 Creative Activities for Kids โ or for the whole family โ as part of our ongoing effort to support at-home learning. We canโt wait to see what you create! #CreativityForKids
Here's one of my go-to websites during remote learning - a one stop shop for a range of maths manipulatives. So helpful via screenshare during video sessions with students! Easy to use. Pass it on! #iteachmath#elemmathchat https://t.co/5FCk4JBaOL
Just some motivation for those who are feeling a bit nervous about casual teaching. Mistakes are opportunities to learn. Own your mistakes, learn from them and try not to repeat them ๐ #ACUedu_p
As a casual teacher it may be difficult to gain the respect of students.. As I have learnt working with children over the past year, it is so important to build a relationship that is based on mutual respect and understanding.
Some teachers just expect respect. However, respect is a two way relationship. For a teacher to be respected by their students they first of all need to show through modelling and care respect for their students. Respect earns respect. #ACUedu_p
My goal is to start casual teaching over the next few weeks. I am very excited as you can tell, I've started to stock up on some resources for reading. As I begin to jump into teaching I aim to set myself goals each week and hope to achieve them in the classroom #ACUedu_p
