Happening Today📌 The Nigeria UHC Forum, a coalition of civil societies and NGOs, will meet with @muhammadpate to discuss the new Health Sector Development Blueprint. This blueprint aims to save lives, alleviate physical & financial hardship, and ensure health for all Nigerians.
We understand and promote partnership with traditional and religious leaders as critical to the success of the Government’s Blueprint for a quality and equitable primary healthcare service to all Nigerians through the BHCPF 2.0. We rely on their sacred legitimacy and connection to the grassroots for community mobilization and providing guidance on how to solve public health challenges towards achieving @officialABAT Renewed Hope Agenda for improved health outcomes.
Our sunrise visit today with @DrSenait and guests from Susan T Buffett Foundation @buffett_susan to the Kuchingoro Primary Health Care Centre, FCT was very inspiring. Thank you, HRH Dr Usman Nga Kupi, Sapeyi of Garki and the indigenes of Kuchingoro for the warm and colourful reception.
We appreciate the support of the USAID Integrated Health Program (IHO) @USAIDGH for the Kuchingoro Primary Health Care Centre.
The exchanges with the frontline health workers, prenatal women, and care receivers at the Centre and their testimonies on the efficacy of our interventions revalidate our resolve to save life and reduce financial and physical pains. We are committed to producing equitable quality healthcare and achieving health security for all Nigerians.
We place a high premium on quality, equitable primary healthcare and social welfare of all Nigerias. Pivotal to this is giving all Nigerian youth the opportunities they deserve on their path to adulthood.
The “whole-of- government” / “whole-of-society” path we have embraced in our Strategic Blueprint for saving lives reducing financial and physical pain to produce health for our people is hinged on deploying a sector-wide approach for resource optimization, transparency and accountability.
Experience from #COVID19 response underscored the need for Nigeria and indeed, Africa, to build its own health system resiliency. Core to this is vaccines development as well as other medical consumables along the value chain. Vaccination is indispensable for health security; and remains one of the most significant medical innovations available to humankind. We have leveraged its efficacy globally to drastically increase life expectancy, decrease mortality, and contribute to economic growth. But we have lagged in recognizing the potential for immunisation to lessen the country’s disease burden.
Robust and reliable vaccine capacity in Nigeria and Africa is a global public good, achievable, deserving of global support. It is established that the public market for vaccines in the continent could rise from $1.3 billion today to between $2.3 billion and $5.4 billion by 2030. This is a huge opportunity for Nigeria and the continent to develop our economies, build medical value chains, create jobs, and thrive!
As the most populous nation and biggest economy in Africa, Nigeria’s leadership and success in this area, leveraging the brilliant minds and resources God has blessed us with, will be critical. This is both for achieving the #AfricaWeWant in line with @_AfricanUnion #Agenda2063 and achieving the #SDG3 by setting off the continent on an unimpeachable trajectory for growth and human development.
The Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT is committed to doing its part to ensure Africa’s health security. As a country, we are setting in motion mechanisms to initiate local production of medical products.
We are also set to optimize our health spending, upscale pre-service training of health workers, upgrade facilities, and provide basic minimum package of health services to Nigerians through the #BHCPF 2.0 towards the #UHC by 2030. And we count on the support of our development partners and all our friends in this noble journey.
Today, we welcomed Professor Senait Fisseha @DrSenait, Director, Global Programs at Susan Thompson Buffet Foundation @buffett_susan and her team to the Headquarters of Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare @Fmohnigeria. We are excited on the alignment of strategic plans for improved quality health outcomes across sectors and targets. We will work together to promote clinical research and development, stimulate local production of health products, shape markets to ensure sustainable local demand, and strengthen supply chains. We are united in our agenda to saving lives and reducing the physical and financial pain of Nigerians through access to quality healthcare.

@Memphis@shegzoO He needs a lot of help. He is clearly hurting. He has been through it for the last 2 years. The alleged victims will walk free and go on to find their next victims. Rinse and Repeat. I pray for healing for him… 🙏🏾🙏🏾
