Player choice matters.
Digital gaming offers convenience, accessibility, and new ways to experience games, and we believe it has an important place in the future of gaming.
Physical games offer something uniquely valuable too: the ability to own, collect, lend, share, resell, import, and preserve the games we love.
At Playasia, we believe players should have the freedom to choose how they experience and own their games. Digital and physical can coexist, and that choice should remain in the hands of players.
As part of that commitment, we’ve signed the “Don’t Kill the Disc” petition calling for physical PlayStation games to remain available.
If player choice matters to you, you can add your voice too:

Seeing a lot of discussions about whether you should be fighting for physical OR better digital customer rights. It's honestly heartbreaking that even some larger accounts seem to use physical media as a sacrificial lamb to further the fight for digital rights when we should absolutely be doing both. It's not an either-or. We should stand united on all fronts. Customer rights in the digital space are basically non-existent and there desperately needs to be change.
But no legislation, no lawsuit, no government intervention will save certain properties only physical media possesses.
No law will fill presents at Christmas.
No law will make the eyes of kids shine when they unwrap it.
No law will populate fairs and conventions where you trade games and talk to friends or likeminded players.
No law will let you browse shelves.
No law will save retailers when they have nothing to sell anymore.
No law will give you that feeling when looking at your collection.
Stop belittling the fight for physical media. Stand united with your fellow players. In the end, this affects us all.
yeah just give in to the digital future! just ignore this, don’t you see the sales? THE DATA??! that’s all the justification you need. this is it! you love this!
Download the offline installer of any of your games on GOG, save it to a disc and it's yours forever.
You don't need a storefront's permission to play what you bought.
It's time for a change, speak up against Sony and Playstation.
Push back the death of physical media, it's time to unite the whole gaming community to one common thing. Don't accept, SAY NO TO DIGITAL ONLY FUTURE

@PlayStation You are killing ownership. You are killing legal preservation. You are killing discoverability. You are killing publishers. You are killing developers. This is a move that might slightly improve bottom lines, but tear down every other aspect of this medium. Well done! You f*d up!
Physical games should always exist, if not for preservation, then at least for enthusiasts. I can still buy vinyls from my favorite modern bands well after vinyl became a “dead format.”
There’s no good reason to not have that boutique support for games.
Yeah this totally sucks. They will eventually try to blame this decision on the handheld, but the reality is, they want you spending more money on games, with less consumer choice.
Don't take my word for it! Look at the prices of physical vs digital on PSN for older titles.
Sony ends physical production in 2028.
The bomb we hoped they were smart enough to never trigger. Discoverability, dead. Ownership, dead. Legal preservation, dead. Micro publishers, dead. A billion $ market, and they just throw it away.

Remember when Musk challenged the World Food Program to explain how he could solve world hunger with just $6 billion, they did, and he just completely ignored them?
I'm Sonic! Sonic the Hedgehog!
2 months ago, SEGA began the Sonic Rewind celebration. So far, we’ve celebrated the 2020s and 2010s.
Now we’re in the 2000s! The party won’t stop there either. For now, enjoy everything this decade has to offer.
See you again soon in the 90s!
