@jan_murray You should have asked what the hourly labour charge would be and ask for a breakdown of the material cost. If you haven't paid contest it, if you have then you live and learn.
Always assume builders are out to rip you off and agree everything up front. Vise versa for builders.
@rawespresso Now do the math on what the house will be worth in 20 years.
That £2050 a month will feel more like £500 p/m in 20 years compared to now. And the fact that in 5 short years, you would have no mortgage or rent to pay.
Oh and you would own a £1.5m assett at the end outright.
@omgsidewalks Rental costs aren't put up by greedy landlords. They are put uo because of inflation, mortgage rates and the government taking more of the profit in taxes. Renters laugh when landlords get stitched up by the government but dont realise they are the only ones who foot the bill 🙄
@CallumLyon Maybe skill up and dont earn minimum wage. I can't remember a time when minimum wage afforded a decent standard of living and owning your own home. In my opinion minimum wage is higher than its ever been, and I mean that in inflation-adjusted terms.
@real_shirelass Aren't these big charities usually funded by the worst culprits who cause the damage in the 1st place to keep their names out of it. British heart foundation-macdonalds etc etc
@TorayKortan Ivery been on the sidelines since october. Kind of proud of myself this cycle. The only problem is is that I am being risk averse and not buying anything yet. If I leave it too long and miss the boat waiting for lower then it will be as bad as not selling the top. Help 🤣🤣
@RoaringHammy This is what i did. You need to get your liabilities down as much as you can and live simple. Next step is to skill up and freelance in a role that I could pick and choose but live comfortably on 2 days a week work. That way your partner can work part time too. Easy life
@MarketingByDan@coded_rafs@rawespresso Yeah it looks the same in all areas around here. Its what you would expect to pay for a million pound house isnt it 😉
@robprogressive I've set my son one up because it is like buying money and a good idea. We live in the north of England so it should help him to save for his 1st house and me, his mum and his grandparents add to it also.
Plus him knowing that he loses lots deters him from taking it out too.
