So long self... Stumbling Jesus-follower with a passion for others to realize God's unabating love and, in turn, offer their heart, mind and soul to Him.
"[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly]." Php3:10(AMPC)
Yes!
“For their heart was not steadfast toward Him, Nor were they faithful in His covenant.” (Psa 78:37)
It is steadfastness that preserves from sin.
1. Purpose to cleave to God in all things
2. Daily renew that purpose
3. Refuse to consider the possibility of looking back
“O Yahweh-God, make yourself real to me like you promised. Because of your constant love and your heart-melting kindness, come be my hero and deliver me! I’m so broken, needy and hurting. My heart is pierced through and I’m so wounded.” (Psa109:21-22)

“When Gideon was dead the children of Israel played the prostitute following the Baals, & made Baal Berith their god.” (Jdg8:33)
Interesting, that they ‘prostituted themselves’ and were not the ones being enticed by the prostitute.
What does that say about my chasing after sin?
Bend over backwards.
Love them with all your heart.
At some point, you will earn their respect and your right to speak. That’s when you answer their question why are you doing this?
This brings you great joy, although you may have to suffer for a short time in various trials. -1Pe1:6
Loud, exultant rejoicing over God’s acts of salvation in the past, present, & future!
It’s not how we weather the trials that define us, it’s the joy inexpressible in trials.
“Let all who passionately seek you erupt with excitement and joy over what you’ve done! Let all your lovers, who continually rejoice in the Savior, say aloud, “‘How great and glorious is our God!’” (Psa 70:4)

“[Your certainty of your coming salvation] brings you great joy, although you may have to suffer for a short time in various trials.” (1Pe 1:6)
The Greek behind ‘great joy’ seems to me to be underplayed. Isn’t Peter saying that knowing this should bring ‘triumphant, holy joy!’
Asaph, in Psa73, was envious of the wicked as he saw their apparent prosperity (v3). He felt his holy pursuit was in vain (v13).
Only when he was enabled to say to God, “Earth has nothing I desire besides You”(v25), was he delivered from the sin of envy.

Psalm 104 is a beautiful testimony of God’s strength & goodness. Seeing that it parallels the 7 days of creation adds a dimension of wide-eyed wonder and praise!
This workbook takes you even deeper by meditating on God’s hand during seasons of your life.

Martha was in a time of deep grief.
Jesus says to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies.” (Jhn 11:25)
Would these words give rest to your soul in a time of great grief?
Talk to God about your answer.
“But I, by your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple.” (Psa 5:7)
Not because of what I’ve done but because of who He is. I see an appropriate response is face-down humility.

If we find our imagination frequently engaged with something sinful, we may include that our affections are secretly being enticed and entangled with it.
Thoughts on Hebrews 5:2a — "He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and misguided…”
The expression "deal gently" is rich with meaning. The faithful priest neither excused sin nor crushed the sinner. Father, Help your under sheperds to faithfully represent you. Amen
Great faith is not just knowledge.
Great faith is a faith that rests on the person of God. The test of great faith is life’s difficulties.
Does you Wednesday live out like your Sunday?
“Sing to the LORD a new song!
Sing to the LORD, all the earth!
Sing to the LORD!
Praise his name!
Announce every day how he delivers!” (Psa96:1-2)
This workbook guides you through the psalms in a different way, so you can learn to sing in a new key.
