@RinoTheBouncer@brotherday1980 If it flops, let's do one thing. Blame the game or the devs ok?
Don't blame gamers that showed no interest, please.
Admit your mistakes and let's move on.
We're tired of this pattern...
@sagathena@kjngamer Exactly, try do Simpson without Homer. How many of your MCs lasted more than 5 years? Kratos is here since 2005, Goku since 1984. You can't change that easily.
@sagathena@kjngamer No, I said I don't remember, it was a long time ago. I'm just giving you examples, try to remove Goku and see what happens to Dragon Ball. Toyama tried to pass the torch to Gohan in Cell Saga, even he had cold feets in replacing Goku.
@sagathena@kjngamer For an title that has the same protagonist for so many years it's harder to change, that's why Dante still appears in all games. Wanna change protagonist? Best way is to do it without backlash is change the title.
@sagathena@kjngamer I can't talk about all of those but Assasins Creed was based in that logic since second game, same with Resident Evil. They didn't kept the same char for 20 years. DMC I remember Nero receiving an lot of backlash in DMC4 and Dante still is a playable character in all games.
@sagathena@kjngamer Garlic jr was a minor saga
Android and namek he's crucial, god, he's in bed sick and we get shots of him xD
Future Trunks isn't in Cell? If not I don't remember that one, but he's in all main ones.
@sagathena@kjngamer Exactly what I said. But I also gave you an example where it worked, with Naruto. Alrhought he's an iconic character they managed to pass the mantle to his son. The trick? They changed the title, it's no longer Naruto, it's Boruto. So simple and it worked.
@sagathena@kjngamer He's always present, saves the day in all sagas. Even dead or in trips you see him training, he's crucial in all sagas. Don't know what you mean with DBZ without Goku ๐
@sagathena@kjngamer I'm not saying to agree with them, just to understand where it comes from, even from gamers who played it when they were younger but diverted from the title and still play other stuff less demanding.
@sagathena@kjngamer Even in gamers we don't know the same titles, but something with so much history you'll eventually will pick it up. So don't think it's only non-gamere having this discussion, theres plenty of gamers too. In comparison this is like changing Lara Croft with an man.
@sagathena@kjngamer In contrast with God of War, yeah, nobody knows. It was acclaimed sure, but doesn't have the same history.
I'm an gamer, but I'm more strategy games and I don't keep up with awards. I know what God of War is through 2 decades of history, I didn't know what Control is.
@sagathena@kjngamer Twitter is a funny place, where you say "I like ducks".
Someone will appear and say
"What do you have against goose's?"
And I will respond
"Nothing, just said I like ducks."
Same thing here.
I'm just throwing an explanation to people reaction, that's all ๐
@HeavenleeBunnie@kjngamer Yes, in a new franchise.
Not something that exists for more than 20 years. It's like changing Lara Croft with an man.
Come on, don't be that retarded.
It's really easy to understand even if don't agree with it.
@kjngamer Yeah but in comparison, nobody knows. God of war is a series with more than 20 years of history, even some non gamers knows it exists. Control is from 2019 I think, changing an core character in an franchise with decades, people will complain, it's not the "God of War"
