Christians have attempted to bring about change in our nation through a variety of means. We’ve prayed and protested. We’ve boycotted brands, bands, and Disneyland. We’ve posted and tweeted. We’ve put signs in yards and waved signs on street corners. Basically, we’ve appropriated the techniques used by non-Christians on all sides of the political aisle. Which would be fine if Jesus left it up to us to determine how to advance his movement. Further his kingdom. Represent his ekklesia. But he didn’t. He prescribed the way forward.

Gotta get something off my chest. Don’t let churches disregarding social distancing tell you it’s all about faith. Takes more faith to trust Jesus to build His church despite empty sanctuaries, to sustain churches financially & bring people back who’ve broken the habit of going.
