@Hossylass@StefBenstead At the moment everyone is treated the same, and many wait far too long for additional financial support, and those who could be helped back to work more quickly aren't. That's all I am saying, from the perspective of someone who
bent the process for years to help people.
@Hossylass@StefBenstead I said "needs' to wait. Entirely different. I know how the rules work. Many should be given more security and certainty on their benefit status more quickly than now, many should be given direct practical work related help, eg identifying reasonable adjustments much earlier.
@Markysix Yeah, nothing I think better demonstrates the state of Premier League football than the fact that Arsenal are now so sanitised that it's fashionable for the London middle classes to "support" them.
@redrumlisa Indeed, broadly agree. Like it or not plenty of union members voted for Thatcher. They may not have been particularly vocal about it, but there has always been an uneasy balance between activists and members, like the Labour Party.
@Hossylass@StefBenstead You aggression is very childish, and completely unwarranted. If this is how you talk to people you don't agree with, no one will listen to you. New Style ESA is a contribution based benefit, not universal.
@Hossylass@StefBenstead It's not just people with jobs who ask GPs for repeat fit notes, and you are assuming that everyone qualifies for ESA. You are also assuming that everyone needs to wait 13 weeks. Mild to moderate conditions are a big proportion of this group.
@Hossylass@StefBenstead They aren't. The whole point is to try and make the system more appropriate to the individual and their circumstances. You "don't give a monkeys" which is unfortunate, because those people matter and the system really doesn't work for them.
@Hossylass@StefBenstead Because earlier intervention may help in some cases. The current system just doesn't work, 13 weeks is too long to wait and the WCA is a crude pass/fail instrument that does little if anything to help anyone. Assuming that any change is wrong suggests everything is fine? It's not.
@Hossylass@StefBenstead It's too early to say it doesn't work? It is better than leaving someone for weeks or more likely months awaiting a WCA. That's my opinion from inside the process. Early access to physio or OT advice can potentially be really helpful. Leaving it as it is not an option imo.
@l_n_n_26 Very few indeed these days. I suspect all three would be regarded as "problematic" or socially conservative by most of the liberal "progressive" class.
@l_n_n_26 And you'd like to think that anyone calling themselves a "Marxist" might have a grip on biological reality rather than postmodernist perceived reality, but often not these days.
