I believe this is the right moment to honour the pledge made to Tooro by making the King Oyo Stadium a reality.

When the Government called for free land for the stadium, His Majesty personally answered that call by offering 50 acres of his own land. He did so because he believed deeply in this project and looked forward to seeing a modern stadium built for his people.

Sadly, he did not live to witness that dream come true.

Your Excellency, completing this stadium and naming it in his honour would be a fitting and lasting tribute to a King who gave his own land to make the project possible. It would preserve his memory while creating an important sporting and development legacy for the young people of Tooro and Uganda.

I therefore humbly appeal to you to honour this pledge and make the King Oyo Stadium a reality.

It would mean a great deal to the people of Tooro and would ensure that His Majesty’s generosity, vision and love for his people live on for generations.
