🎖️At Windsor Castle today, The King invested 103-year-old Havildar Major Rajindar Singh Dhatt as an MBE for services to the South Asian Community in the UK.
Born in 1921 in pre-partition India, Rajindar had almost finished school when the Second World War broke out, prompting him to join the British Army.
Rajindar quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to Havildar Major (Sergeant Major) in 1943. He was deployed to the Far East campaign, where he fought in Kohima, northeast India, supporting the Allied Forces in breaking through Japanese defenses.
After the war, Rajindar returned to India before relocating with his family to Hounslow in 1963. There, he co-founded the ‘Undivided Indian Ex-Servicemen’s Association’, to help unite British-Indian veterans.
Win or not, The Princess of Wales is my person of the year. She had surgery, found cancer and had chemo while being internationally harassed. Rise’s above with positivity and thinking of others. She has strength, grace and pivotal to the Royal Family. A genuine and decent woman❤️
@NurseStandard No wonder all nhs staff leaving or taking early retirement as I be one of them. I taking my early retirement, leave nhs and work elsewhere where I get decent pay n benefits
It’s mad that this is still happening, my dad 15 years ago, my partners father very recently. The NHS still keeps ignoring their own guidance. Deaf people are dying and are being neglected by the very people that should be helping them. Access is not complicated! I’m so tired!
