The Stars Reach technology accomplishes things that no other MMO has ever considered, with worlds that live and breathe on a cellular level.
See #RaphKoster explain how the #StarsReach tech works and why it makes an enormous impact on how the game plays.

@smstudios Nope. Different tech. Similar (but different!) ideas and implementation. Check this trailer for more info: https://t.co/0Rb3bYO7oz
And hi, Teryn!
@ElkayEQ We're still very pre-alpha. Think of this as a sneak peek. We'll be doing some player testing for initial feedback toward the end of summer, I think.
@pixelfenix Credit where credit is due: It turns out that Raph and I were independently paralleling each other on a lot of topics. It's one of the reasons I wanted to work here. The ideas he had felt like home and some were better! I have had a bit of influence here and there though. :)
If you're interested in the theory behind the game, here's Raph in a short video to tell you a bit about why this game's being made...and why we're pulling the curtain back a bit: https://t.co/EIkYihGuLv
@dustindoner I was glib yesterday, but I meant it. There will be many types of players, but "caretakers" (planetologists, xenobiologists, etc) are very much part of the gameplay. So yeah, form a planetary government and create laws to protect species. That's totally a thing you can do.
@pixelfenix It's interesting to me because everything you can do on planets, you can also do in space. This isn't a "planet game" with some space travel bolted on. You can mine, build, fight, craft, etc., all in space. Space is its own biome with its own rules. You'll see.
@andycunny I have also never quite healed after having the entire company sold out from under my feet. "What a bummer" is a serious understatement. But looking forward, I'm super happy with this game's direction.
