A year has passed since the assassination of Charlie Kirk. I think of him often, and the first thing I remember about him is his sense of fun. He did great things, worked hard, prayed hard, took care of his family while he built a great organization. He loved all of those things, and he did not forget to enjoy them. He was happy.

The nation is poorer without Charlie, and of course his friends miss him acutely. One thing to remember about him is the joy he found in his work, his family, his loves. The problems Charlie spent his life repairing are still with us today. We should emulate the way Charlie went about his work. When a young man, Winston Churchill said once, “What is life for but to struggle in noble causes?” Charlie Kirk reminds us of the same thing. We should be happy about it.

One of Charlie's greatest heroes was Rush Limbaugh. It's why he started a podcast and then a nationally syndicated radio show of his own. I'm so glad they got to meet, and then eventually become close friends.

One year ago, on September 6th, Charlie was asked to come on stage in Seoul, South Korea, where thousands of Korean Christians prayed over him and thanked the Lord for his life and his work.

Then, together, they sang “How Great Is Our God.”

I’ll never forget watching Charlie take it all in. For someone who spent so much of his life speaking to massive crowds, this moment was different. He wasn’t there to give a speech or make a political argument. He was simply standing among thousands of fellow believers, worshiping the Lord.

Afterward, on our way to the airport, Charlie looked at me and said, “Wow, that was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.”

I think about those words a lot now.

Halfway around the world, surrounded by thousands of people worshiping in a different language, Charlie still knew the song. Different country, different language, different culture, but the same words, the same faith, and the same God.

The defense attorney for Tyler Robinson stood up in court and made a statement that should disgust everyone listening. He said, “It is TRUE that Mr. Kirk spoke hatefully of certain groups of people.”

He didn't say, "the state alleges." He didn't say, "many have believed." Sitting right there in front of Charlie’s widow, he stated it on the record as a fact: "It is true." This is such a scumbag move. And it's the oldest and dirtiest move there is against a dead man. Instead of flat-out saying he deserved it, this guy is basically saying, 'Well, killing him is explainable.'

THAT IS WHY CHARLIE WAS TARGETED IN THE FIRST PLACE. Because people like this spun a narrative that Charlie was undeniably hateful. Absolutely disgusting.

Three Huntsville Hospital ICU nurses say they were going to stop at nothing to fulfill Jeannie Guffey's wish of being baptized.

"It was just a really sweet, emotional moment. The nurses went above and beyond to make this happen at the 11th hour when we were running out of options," Guffey's daughter-in-law said.

Guffey passed away peacefully one week later.
