AI just resurrected my ~25-year-old scanner.

6 years ago I bought a new Lexmark MFC Printer because my now ~25 year old HP MFC stopped getting driver support for its scanner and I could no longer make the ancient drivers work on then-recent macOS versions.

I've kept the HP on the network as a capable laser printer since.

Yesterday, literally mid-discussion while recording Monday's upcoming Mac Geek Gab episode, it dawned on me that I could ask Claude, “hey, what are the chances we could…” and literally by the end of the episode I had native macOS network scanning functionality returned to that ~25 year old printer.

This is not yesterday’s world, folks.

Saved me $1,300.

The real question: if you used a CPA this year to prepare and file your taxes, will you do the same thing next year or will you use AI to assist you in preparing them on your own? 🤔

Wow. iPhone Duos are selling fast!

They said pick up in store on the 10/23 or shipped for 11/6. So I chose pick up and selected a time. ⏰

By the time I got to checkout a few seconds later, no pickups were available anywhere. And the delivery window slipped to 11/20! 🚚📦📲

At least when I bought Rush tickets last year they were secure once they were in my cart! 🛒 🤘

And now, after typing this, pre-order deliveries have slipped to 12/14. Insanity. 🔥 💸

@ShannonJean For my more simple LLCs, I’m really tempted to just let AI be the preparer and skip the accountant fees. The biggest concern is missing that accountant signature on the return. I have always let myself believe that is a signal to the IRS that the return is not worth auditing. 🤷‍♂️

Moving that BTC around “anonymously” might be someone’s idea of a way to make tax-free distributions to one’s heirs.

Whether it’ll work or not is another story, of course!
