So this chart, which I made using the numbers in S. Mintz' recent Inside Higher Ed. piece (link and original source below) on the change in permanent faculty for 14 history departments is catastrophic.

After 20-months without an oven, we finally got one. We’ve been cooking on two single induction burners since Aug 2020 (long story). We ordered one last year, but arrived broken in January. Ordered replacement, but not arriving until the end of 2022, so we got this one. We baked!
