@Anthony46374714 @reformussoccer@premierleague One could indeed argue that MLS does not have any meaningful games since more than half the teams make the playoffs anyways
Sources: Apple TV are “very worried” about the amount of MLS Season Pass subscriptions sold to start the season. According to my source, they have met just 40% of their initial projection..
Thank you @adidas for becoming a founding partner of @MLSNEXTPRO, which completes the player pathway from @MLSNEXT to the first teams of @MLS.
Congratulations to Charles Altchek on being named President of MLS NEXT Pro, and to Ali Curtis on becoming SVP of Competition and Ops.
Are we raising a generation of footballers with fancy footwork and poor mindsets, chasing places in fake ‘elite’ teams, ‘elite’ leagues etc and prizing wins above personal commitment and development? Team doesn’t win? That’s ok, swap to the latest winning team. And repeat.
@locomot1f @THEChrisKessell I’d ask the club to tell me why they want me to teach 11 yr olds to do that. Additionally I’d like them to give me their list of developmental priorities at that age.
All great ideas that will never happen until there is guidance and structure from the top down. So we can live in the land of theoretical but nothing will change if nothing changes.
I would like to see this in US soccer:
Phase 1: U12 and below.
1. No tryouts.
2. Age group trains together.
3. Experienced coach runs sessions.
4. Assistant coaches help and learn.
5. Develop drills for individual skills
6. Divide teams evenly for play
@AllezMotorikFC @SancombLawrence I get Kenneth’s point though. When the whole goal is about putting the other guy out of business then we’ve missed the boat. Competition, more leagues, more opportunities is all fine, but some structure and oversight could make it even better.
