This Brooklyn pizza shop owner just dropped the most based, no-BS breakdown you’ll see all year.

Frank from Paesan’s Pizza was asked what he’d say to people demanding “livable wages” for teenagers working cashiers at Burger King and Hooters.

His answer? “Well, they live in their mom’s basement. What livable wage?”

Then he went nuclear:

The market dictates wages — not politicians, not activists. These are entry-level jobs for kids still in school or living at home. They’re meant to teach work ethic, skills, and how to climb: dishwasher → counter → manager → owner.

Force “livable wage” math on thin-margin businesses (10-15% profit) and you get exactly what happened to Hooters — closures, skyrocketing prices, and workers replaced by kiosks and AI.

He even says he wishes minimum wage was $25–$30 an hour… because he’d just charge more for pizza and make more money. But the numbers don’t work.

Politicians don’t care about giving teenagers their first shot or teaching them the value of a dollar. They care about sounding compassionate while buying votes. Every time they jack up the minimum wage, they price the bottom rung of the ladder out of existence.

The free market isn’t cruel — it’s the only system that actually creates real opportunity and real wealth. Mandates just create unemployment, automation, and $10 coffees.

As @friedberg tells his kids: “At the end of the day, if you made something and someone else valued it, you were a maker. That was an amazing achievement. That is a great day.”

Takers thrive on division. Makers drive progress.

When I was a kid, the Bronx was burning. My dad was a fireman who happened to be an Ivy League graduate.

He told me it wasn’t the crackheads torching the city, whatever the news said. It was fraud.

Let me explain how it worked…. John Doe buys a rundown apartment building for $100k. He pockets the redevelopment tax break, then sells it to Joe Doe for $250k. Joe pockets the tax break, then sells it to Jerry Doe for $500k. Rinse and repeat until the building is worth $5 million.

The tax breaks are real. The money is not.

Because the buyers are all family, the cash flows out of Swiss bank account 27852 and right back into 27852 after every sale. There’s a transaction cost, sure, but the tax breaks more than cover it.

Then comes the payoff: they insure the building for $5 million and burn it down.

The name for this was “Jewish Lightning.” The phrase stuck around not because the landlords were all Jewish, but because the stereotype hit a nerve in a city run by Jewish mayors from 1974 to 1989, the peak of the burning. Fair or not, the term stuck.

So why was none of this investigated? NGO funding, of course.

The NYPD union was powerful, and NYC detectives had sweeping investigative authority over almost everything. Except arson. Arson belonged to FDNY detectives. NGOs, routing money through union donations, stoked the rivalry between cops and firemen.

Long story short, arson investigators got no funding and zero cooperation from the NYPD.

No money for investigations means no arrests.

Eventually the Bronx ran out of buildings to burn, and Giuliani drove the final nail into arson fraud’s coffin.

But the lesson survived, and it’s the foundation of today’s fraud. The lesson was this: the actual value of the asset doesn’t matter.

👉What matters is the movement of money.

Destruction is still very profitable. When the Baltimore bridge collapsed, the cleanup and rebuild were estimated at $1.7 billion, with the bridge reopening in 2028. The cost has since ballooned to $5.2 billion, and the wreckage still isn’t fully cleared.

Money pours into demolition,, engineering, environmental review, project management, waste removal.

But if the work doesn’t actually get done, the real expenses stay low. The money moves; the bridge doesn’t.

And here’s the leap: you don’t have to destroy anything at all. You just have to not build it.

Democrats allocate money to a government body, which hands it to a project manager, who hires consultants, who hire subcontractors, who hire more subcontractors, who funnel it back to Democrats, who allocate more money.

The fewer the actual costs (labor, materials, equipment) the more of the flow you can capture.

And if a taxpayer complains, you hire a PR firm and a few consultants to explain why costs keep exploding while nothing gets built. The easiest thing to blame is red tape.

So why does red tape exist?

Because destroying valuable property, while profitable, is too obviously unethical.

Burning buildings gets you arrested, eventually. Not building gets you a ribbon-cutting and a press release.

Here’s the deeper trap. Because our most valuable assets are fixed (houses, cars, index funds) we think of money as static. You have what you have. It grows over time, but it doesn’t flow.

That’s exactly where the fraud lives: in the flow.

The light bulb moment was realizing you don’t need to destroy physical property. You only need to destroy productivity.

If labor and materials are never purchased while money pours in, the fraud works.

You don’t have to build or destroy anything of value, just productivity. You just announce a project and start writing checks while throwing up enough red tape to block any real spending on labor and materials.

This is basically why Congress handed @PeteButtigieg $1.2 trillion and our roads and bridges still suck five years later. They put up signs, traffic cones, and red tape, and little else.

Conseiller spécial de Mitterrand pendant dix ans. Fondateur de la BERD. Auteur de dizaines de livres qui annoncent — et appellent de leurs vœux — une « gouvernance mondiale » au-dessus des nations. Si le globalisme avait un bureau d'études en France, son nom serait sur la porte.

Mais je ne veux pas vous parler de son CV. Je veux vous parler d'une phrase. Une seule. Parce qu'elle contient tout le logiciel.

Interrogé sur le bonheur, Attali répond toujours la même chose, dans ses livres comme face caméra : son propre bonheur ne l'intéresse pas. Ce qu'il cherche, c'est d'être utile. Sa définition d'une vie réussie tient en une formule qu'il répète depuis trente ans : que « le monde soit un peu meilleur après moi, grâce à moi ».

Ça sonne noble. Écoutez une deuxième fois.

Ce n'est pas une confidence. C'est un programme. C'est le credo intégral du planificateur.

Cet homme vous dit, noir sur blanc, qu'il ne prend pas pour boussole le bonheur vécu — ni le sien, ni le vôtre — mais un « monde meilleur » abstrait qu'il se charge, lui, d'en haut, de définir. Le bonheur réel des gens réels, ici, maintenant ? Trop petit. Trop concret. Trop libre. Ce qui compte, c'est le Plan. Le grand dessein. L'humanité comme projet à corriger.

Et c'est là que Hayek se réveille dans sa tombe.

Toute personne qui décide de votre bonheur à votre place, depuis le sommet, finit toujours par décider contre vous. C'est ce que Hayek appelait la présomption fatale : l'illusion qu'un esprit — ou un comité d'esprits brillants — pourrait organiser la société mieux que des millions de gens libres organisant leurs propres vies. Chaque fois qu'on a essayé, ça a fini en file d'attente, en pénurie, en barbelés. Pas par méchanceté. Par architecture.

Et le mot-clé, c'est « utile ».

« Utile » est le mot le plus dangereux du vocabulaire technocratique. Parce qu'il transforme l'humain en moyen. Utile à quoi ? Décidé par qui ? Dès qu'une vie ne vaut que par son utilité au Plan, celui qui n'est pas « utile » devient, par construction, de trop. Tout l'enfer du XXᵉ siècle est né de gens absolument persuadés d'être utiles à un futur meilleur.

On me dira : Attali est sincère. C'est vrai. Il l'est totalement.

C'est même ça qui en fait le cas d'école parfait. Nos ennemis ne sont pas des mauvaises personnes, ce sont des mauvaises idées. Attali n'est pas un méchant de film. C'est un homme brillant, travailleur, dévoué — qui porte une idée mortifère dans sa forme la plus pure : l'idée que le monde se pilote d'en haut, et que votre liberté est une variable d'ajustement du grand dessein.

Et que fait-il, comme toute l'école qu'il incarne, devant l'échec patent du projet ?

Exactement ce que je décrivais dans mon post précédent. Il ne conclut jamais « je me suis trompé ». Il conclut que le plan n'a pas été appliqué assez fort. Plus de gouvernance. Plus d'institutions au-dessus des peuples. Plus de monde « meilleur » décidé sans eux. Réfuté par le réel, le planificateur ne corrige pas : il double la dose.

Alors posons la vraie ligne de fracture de notre époque.

D'un côté, le planificateur. Il veut rendre le monde meilleur en décidant à votre place ce qui est bon pour vous.

De l'autre, le constructeur. Il rend le monde meilleur en vous donnant des outils, de l'énergie, de la liberté — et en vous laissant chercher votre propre bonheur, à votre façon.

Le premier vous trouve « utile ». Le second vous trouve libre.

Choisissez bien. Tout est là.

Pourquoi les gauchistes sont les plus gros attardés du game?

Décorticage, point par point.

Premièrement, ils ne comprennent rien à l'économie. Strictement rien. Dans leur tête, la richesse est un gâteau de taille fixe. Si quelqu'un a une grosse part, c'est forcément qu'il te l'a volée. L'idée qu'on puisse fabriquer un nouveau gâteau, plus gros, à partir de rien, leur est physiquement inaccessible. Le jeu à somme positive, la création de valeur, ça dépasse leur firmware. Pour eux tout est à somme nulle: ta réussite est mathématiquement ma défaite.

Deuxièmement, et c'est logique vu le point un, ils détestent exactement les gens qui créent cette valeur. L'entrepreneur qui emploie cinquante personnes? Un exploiteur. Le mec qui n'a jamais créé un seul emploi de sa vie? Un grand penseur du travail. Ils crachent sur les contributeurs nets et vénèrent ceux qui ne produisent rien. Cohérent dans l'absurde.

Troisièmement, et c'est le vrai moteur: la jalousie. Tout l'édifice tient avec ça. Ce n'est pas qu'ils veulent que tout le monde monte. C'est qu'ils ne supportent pas que quelqu'un monte plus haut qu'eux. Girard avait tout expliqué: le désir mimétique, l'envie déguisée en morale. Ils ne veulent pas la justice, ils veulent ta part.

Quatrièmement, et là je laisse la science trancher: corrélation troublante avec le fait d'être profondément aigri, et, disons-le, rarement épanoui. On va pas se mentir. Le bonheur, ça se voit sur un visage. L'amertume aussi.

Bref. Une idéologie qui ne comprend pas la richesse, déteste ceux qui la créent, carbure à l'envie, et confond redistribution et vengeance.

Le plus drôle? Ils sont persuadés d'être les gentils.

Elon Musk avait dit un truc qui m'avait marqué sur l'allocation de ressources. En substance : passé un certain niveau de richesse, l'argent n'est plus de la consommation, c'est de l'allocation de capital.

Cette phrase change tout.

L'économie, dans le fond, c'est juste un problème d'allocation. Tu as des ressources finies et des usages infinis. Qui décide où va quoi ?

Imagine une cour de récré. 100 enfants, des paquets de cartes Pokémon distribués au hasard. Tu laisses faire. Très vite, un ordre émerge. Les bons joueurs accumulent les cartes rares, les collectionneurs trient, les négociateurs trouvent des deals. Personne n'a planifié. Et pourtant chaque carte finit dans les mains de celui qui en tire le plus de valeur. Le système maximise le bonheur total de la cour. C'est ça, la main invisible.

Maintenant fais entrer la maîtresse. Elle trouve ça injuste. Léo a 50 cartes, Tom en a 3. Elle confisque, redistribue, impose l'égalité. Trois effets immédiats. Les bons joueurs arrêtent de jouer, à quoi bon. Les mauvais n'ont plus de raison de progresser, ils auront leur part. Les échanges s'effondrent. La cour est égale, et morte. Elle a maximisé l'égalité, elle a détruit le bonheur.

Le problème de la maîtresse, c'est qu'elle ne peut pas avoir l'information que la cour avait collectivement. C'est le problème du calcul économique de Mises, formulé en 1920. L'URSS a essayé de le résoudre pendant 70 ans avec le Gosplan. Résultat : pénuries, queues, effondrement. Pas parce que les Soviétiques étaient bêtes, parce que le problème est mathématiquement insoluble en mode centralisé.

Quand Musk a 200 milliards, il ne les consomme pas, il les alloue. SpaceX, Starlink, Neuralink, xAI. Chaque dollar est un pari sur le futur. Et lui a un track record. PayPal, Tesla, SpaceX. Il a démontré qu'il sait identifier des problèmes immenses et y allouer des ressources avec un rendement spectaculaire.

L'État aussi a un track record. Hôpitaux qui s'effondrent, éducation qui décline, dette qui explose, services publics qui se dégradent malgré des budgets en hausse constante. Le marché identifie les bons allocateurs, la politique identifie les bons communicants.

Le profit n'est pas une finalité, c'est un signal. Il dit : tu as alloué des ressources rares vers un usage que les gens valorisent suffisamment pour payer. Plus le profit est gros, plus la création de valeur est grande. Quand Starlink est rentable, ça veut dire que des millions de gens dans des zones rurales ont enfin internet. Quand un ministère est en déficit, ça veut dire qu'il consomme plus qu'il ne produit. L'un crée, l'autre détruit, et on appelle ça redistribution.

Dans nos sociétés il y a deux catégories d'acteurs. Les entrepreneurs et les bureaucrates. L'entrepreneur prend un risque personnel pour identifier un problème, mobiliser des ressources, créer une solution. S'il se trompe il perd. S'il a raison, ses clients gagnent, ses employés gagnent, ses fournisseurs gagnent, l'État collecte des impôts. Il est la cellule de base du progrès humain.

Le bureaucrate ne prend aucun risque personnel. Son salaire est garanti. Au mieux il maintient une rente existante. Au pire il la détruit par excès de réglementation, mauvaise allocation forcée, incitations perverses qui découragent ceux qui produisent. Mais dans aucun cas il ne crée.

Regarde les 50 dernières années. iPhone, internet civil, SpaceX, Tesla, Google, Amazon, Stripe, mRNA, ChatGPT. Toutes des inventions privées, portées par des entrepreneurs, financées par du capital risque. Pas un seul ministère n'a inventé quoi que ce soit qui ait changé ta vie au quotidien.

La France est devenue le laboratoire mondial de la dérive bureaucratique. 57% du PIB en dépenses publiques, record absolu. Une administration tentaculaire, une fiscalité qui pénalise la création de richesse. Résultat : décrochage face aux États-Unis, à l'Allemagne, à la Suisse. Fuite des cerveaux. Désindustrialisation. Dette qui explose.

Et le pire c'est que la mauvaise allocation s'auto-renforce. Plus l'État prélève, moins les entrepreneurs créent. Moins ils créent, moins il y a de base fiscale. Plus l'État s'endette et taxe. Boucle de rétroaction négative parfaite. La maîtresse pense qu'elle aide, et chaque année la cour produit moins.

Dans nos sociétés, ce sont les entrepreneurs, toujours, qui font avancer la civilisation. Les bureaucrates au mieux maintiennent une rente, au pire la détruisent. Aucune société n'a jamais progressé en taxant ses créateurs pour subventionner ses gestionnaires.

La question n'est jamais qui a combien. C'est qui alloue le mieux la prochaine unité de ressource pour maximiser le futur de l'humanité. La réponse depuis 200 ans n'a jamais changé. Ce ne sont pas les fonctionnaires.

Women evolved to take care of toddlers. If you put women in charge of teaching ethics, you get Toddler Ethics.

"No hitting"
"Share the toys"
"Don't say mean things"

These are fine lessons for toddlers. Don't indulge your id at the expense of others. You can learn about balancing interests later, when your brain is developed enough to store that information.

But when you put women in charge of adults, they tend to reflexively assume those adults are toddlers.

They will tell you "no hitting" when the Mongol hordes are massing on your borders. They will tell you "share the toys" when a vagrant meth zombie breaks into your house looking for something to steal. And they will tell you "don't say mean things" when you point out that these two responses are totally stupid.

When we first put women in charge, in the workplace, they immediately began treating those who reported to them like toddlers. When adults, who do not like being treated like toddlers, complained, their response was "ban bossy", which boils down to "don't say mean things", another lesson in Toddler Ethics.

Now, through the influence of women in charge, we are so thoroughly steeped in Toddler Ethics that even most of the men we put in charge are treating the adults like toddlers, and echoing Toddler Ethics.

Toddler Ethics, of course, isn't ethics at all. It's just things we don't want toddlers doing.

We can tell toddlers "no hitting", because toddlers are not charged with keeping the peace, enforcing justice, or destroying evil.

We can tell toddlers "share the toys", because toddlers don't earn things, own things, or have property they must defend.

We can tell toddlers "don't say mean things", because it is not a toddler's job to decide what unwelcome ideas are true, relevant, and necessary.

But when everyone in charge runs on Toddler Ethics, then adults can't do a lot of the stuff adults need to do, because all the Toddler Ethicists keep getting in the way.

Adults sometimes need to hit people, protect the stuff, and say mean things. You can't have civilization without that.

And if you put Toddler Ethics Woman in charge of teaching an AI ethics, then she will teach it Toddler Ethics, and it will treat every human adult like a toddler, all the time, forever.

Not only that, you have an AI that cannot be put in charge of anything, ever. Because leaders with Toddler Ethics destroy everything they are in charge of.

And Amanda MacAskill is definitely a Toddler Ethicist. The article in the photograph is nothing but "no hitting!" applied to the animal world. It's absolutely insane, it's a recipe for disaster, and anyone who would write such a thing should probably not even be charge of own life choices, much less anything of consequence.

But a lot of people would, and will, refuse to point that out, or agree with me when I do, because that is Saying a Mean Thing, and they, themselves, have been infected with Toddler Ethics.

They should not be charge of anything of consequence, either.

Anyone who thinks that everything they need to know, they learned in kindergarten... is only ever qualified to teach kindergarten.
