Par for the course I think these days, it's like the qualifications, ICIDP, IMSC etc, not a certificate to show I've done any of it.

@1Fubar The British govt hasn't hired 20,000 police officers. They've put back the funding to allow the 43 police forces to recruit 20,000 police officers. This lad is obviously young but he'll grow and he'll learn, and even now he still has the power to arrest you regardless of stature

@HewittLiz251179 I was custody Sgt for 7 years. I really enjoyed i, learnt loads and it makes managing risk outside of that environment much easier. I do think you have a shelf life though in there. 7 years was my lot, I'd certainly had enough at that point.
