51 years ago today, Dr. King was assassinated in Memphis. He was in the city standing with striking sanitation workers fighting for a union and for safety and dignity on the job. We honor his legacy by continuing his fight for racial, social, and economic justice.

No one can deny that today’s minimum wage of $7.25 an hour is nothing more than a starvation wage. After 10 years of inaction, it’s time to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. Doing so would directly benefit over 41 million workers across the nation.
