Cardano ( $ADA ) and MultiversX ( $EGLD ) communities and investors are looking forward to a potential collaboration.

On November 30, IOHK CEO Charles Hoskinson (@IOHK_Charles) and MultiversX Foundation CEO Beniamin Mincu (@beniaminmincu) agreed upon a goodwill meeting this week.

Everything started with a casual conversation between ADA and EGLD communities regarding the ongoing dominance of centralized dollar-based stablecoins like Circle’s USDC, Tether’s USDT, and Ripple Lab’s RLUSD, looking for sound alternatives.

During the talk, Cüneyt Denizli (@DenizliCuneyt), DBCrypto (@DBCrypt0), and Angry Crypto Show (@angrycryptoshow) discussed a Cardano-MultiversX ecosystem collaboration, referencing decentralized stablecoin alternatives.

Denizli summoned Hoskinson for the talk, asking if IOHK was in contact with MultiverseX, which received a positive answer.

One hour later, Charles Hoskinson tagged Beniamin Mincu, suggesting they could “have a call sometime.” Mincu responded he will be in the United States “next week” and is “happy to meet and chat” with Hoskinson.

It would be interesting to see a European version of this. I see hundreds of news 🗞️ about Trump, Robert Kennedy Jr and Elon Musk being Putin’s friend, destroyer of EU, and pro-Russia and extremely dangerous to democracy.

US is nothing close to being pro-Russia. And that is good. But the neo-marxist ideas of a lot of democrats is closer to communism and closer to the old Russia than they say.

It is laughable to see the same narrative which failed miserably in US, getting taken up by so many news agencies in Europe. Wasn’t Europe supposed to be better? More professional?

Did Musk build a gigafactory in Russia or in Germany? How much more work did they brought into the US vs outsourcing it to China?

L2s are not needed at all, it is a false promise, it is a wrong narrative, especially when they do not even fulfill the initial requirements of L2s.

Until they are not permissionless, cannot be censored, and everyone can have access to them, even when the government interferes, those are compression algorithms run by centralised entities and at most a multi signature. ✍️

L2s are not needed when the base layer scales and everyone can strive on top of it. L1s can be super decentralised, low node requirements and super secure as well. L1 can have Horizontal scaling, the one true scaling solution for decentralised public ledgers.

L2s have taken too many shortcuts and it is the wrong approach. Further dividing users, developers, liquidity, funding and more, when apps have the job to develop apps on an existing great infrastructure. Apps do not have the job of rewrite the entire stack from zero. If that is the case, what is essentially the role of Ethereum? Mostly nothing.

If you want to build an app, do it on top of an L1 directly. It will be cheaper, faster, safer.
