Earth is still bound to the Late Cenozoic Ice Age, and our planet's average global temperature still hovers around a very livable 15°C.

This is far below the world's long-term planetary average of 18°C to 24°C - seen throughout most of Earth's biological history. It makes the idea of a global warming crisis seem out of sync with reality.

Despite four decades of continuous climate alarmism, roughly 10% of the Earth's total land area remains permanently capped by glacial ice, which covers 15 million square kilometers (5.8 million square miles).

That is nearly a third of its extent during the peak of the Last Glacial Maximum (26,000 to 19,000 years ago), when continental ice sheets reached their historical zenith.

The Antarctic ice sheet remains the largest and thickest body of ice on the planet, extending up to 4.8 kilometers (about 3 miles) deep. It holds roughly 90% of global ice volume and accounts for 85% of total glacial land cover. Spanning 14 million square kilometers (5.4 million square miles), Antarctica alone makes up 8.3% of Earth's total land surface.

A basic geographical reality is often forgotten: land comprises a mere 28% of the planet's surface. All human cities, towns, and infrastructure combined occupy just 1% to 3% of that land (while deserts take up 33% and forests 31%).

We live on an ocean world, and waters cover 72% of the globe to an average depth of 2.3 miles.

Crucially, the oceans hold 86% of the global carbon reservoir and absorb over 90% of retained thermal energy. By contrast, the atmosphere holds a fraction of a percent of each. The oceans—not human industrial activity—serve as the true long-term regulatory engine for atmospheric carbon dioxide and global climate stability.

The current Quaternary Glaciation is part of an ice age cycle that began 34 million years ago with the thermal isolation and glaciation of Antarctica, later intensified by the closure of the Isthmus of Panama and orbital variations (Milankovitch cycles).

Carbon dioxide was not the driver of these immense shifts.

All of human civilisation, agriculture and technological progress has unfolded within a brief, warm respite: the Holocene interglacial period, which began just 11,700 years ago.

Yet for 40 years, the narrative has been dominated by a campaign driven by an unaccountable bureaucratic authority—the United Nations—pushing an agenda of global control.

The promised catastrophe of runaway, unprecedented warming never arrived.

A “social media ban for children” will ultimately mean ID checks for all of us before we can speak online.

Parents already have tools to protect their children. Children do not buy smartphones for themselves. Adults choose to provide devices and decide how they are used.

If a parent wants parental controls, they can enable them today.

Children need guidance, care, and sensible boundaries – not an internet redesigned around the assumption that every user must be a potential threat.

There is nothing safe about a society where ordinary people must be identified, monitored, and recorded simply to participate.

Together have strongly campaigned to scrap national Digital ID

However, we must also ensure that connected systems such as GOV UK One Login, the GOV UK App and Government Wallet can't just gradually evolve into a de facto digital ID through expansion, function creep or the erosion of offline alternatives

The real test is not what the system is called, but what it can do, how widely it can be used, and whether people remain free to live their lives without relying on or being forced into it

New research claims human emissions are not driving atmospheric CO2.

A paper by Dai Ato ran multiple linear regressions for 1959 to 2022, testing two predictors of the annual CO2 increase: sea surface temperature and human emissions.

The result was clear: when the oceans warmed, CO2 levels rose almost exactly in step - about two to three parts per million for every one degree Celsius of warming.

Adding human emissions to the model didn't change the outcome.

Using only ocean temperature, the model reproduced global CO2 levels with near-perfect accuracy - a correlation of 0.995 and an error of just one to two ppm by 2022.

The main factor governing the annual increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration is sea surface temperature rather than human emissions.

Earlier studies have shown the same pattern. Temperature changes first, CO2 follows.

If Ato is correct, cutting human emissions won't lower atmospheric CO2 because it's the oceans that set the pace.

Right then … as Ross Clark points out, the claim that 2,700 people were killed by the heat is bollocks. (Technical term)

It was presented as an actual death toll. It wasn’t. It was a modelling exercise and er.… not actual mortality

UKHSA found NO excess mortality during the May heatwave.

And in the 2 published ONS weeks covering most of June’s heatwave, death registrations were actually 918 BELOW expected.

But the hysterical headlines pushed the narrative as if it was fact. As always, question everything.

📢 A new Free Speech Bill has been proposed.

Barrister Jon Holbrook, a member of the Free Speech Union's Legal Advisory Council, has published an important report for the Prosperity Institute charting the decline of free speech in Britain and setting out a five-point Free Speech Bill to reverse it.

Jon argues that the expansion of vaguely defined speech offences — using terms such as "grossly offensive", "abusive", "insulting" and "stirring up" — has handed governments sweeping powers to decide what people can and cannot say.

His proposed Bill would repeal Section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986, abolish laws based on the concept of non-violent "hate speech", and restore the principle that free speech protects not only popular opinions, but also those that are contentious, provocative and unwelcome.

As Lord Frost writes in the foreword: "The chilling effect falls on all of us."

This is a welcome intervention as we fight to defend our right to freedom of speech in the UK.
