@ThatLondonLady@England@FIFAWorldCup Newfoundland, Canada (now that Canada has been eliminated :)). We were linked politically to Britian until 1949 and for some time a colony. Lots of Union Jacks flying next to the Maple Leaf here.
@ThatEricAlper Van the man too late to stop now, The Band the last waltz and Talking Heads stop making sense. Honourable mention to The Who live at Leeds
@shirley_good@ThatEricAlper Not so much now but music played a vital role in change during the 60’s and 70’s. Csny, Pete Seeger, Marvin Gaye and others became the lightning rod to rally people to action.
@primarily_prog@TKsAudioRoom Still in regular rotation start to finish. Songwriting is solid, sound is excellent and Clapton is on his game. I’ve seen him a few times including the Journeyman tour and this one was the best. You could tell he was thoroughly enjoying himself which isn’t always the case.
@ClassicRockMag I’m a massive fan of The Who. Own everything they ever released but Roger and Pete have lost the plot. Didn’t bother to see their last tour. There’s a rock opera waiting to be written about two rock stars who don’t age gracefully. Pete should get a mirror and write that.
@ThatEricAlper I have this on cassette, cd and vinyl. Great album that was a big part of my teenage years and still makes an appearance in my current music rotation.
@nfldrigworker Had the same thing happen some years back. Had a witness in the vehicle and the plate number. Called the company and got the same response. They refused so took it to small claims court and their insurance paid for the damages (windshield and some small paint chips).
A wonderful, brilliant man that we are so proud to call friend. Kind beyond all measure. We miss you Rodney Cumby. You are unparalleled. Thank you CAMA.
@CampbellCritch@hockeyscott99 Salmon Fest was on at the same time which was huge back in the day. I think the Beach Boys were headlining a day or so after so it was a big draw as people headed for the NL Woodstock :). Hard to believe people would choose the Beach Boys over Bowie. They missed quite a show.
@hockeyscott99 Lots of memories there thanks for posting! Saw them all except for Katrina and the waves. Bowie was excellent. If I recall correctly it was the sound and vision tour. The equipment for visual effects didn’t get here but he went on and brought the house down.
