Special nod to Ikiru, it was the one I enjoyed the most and even made me well up a couple of times! Takashi Shimura was a sublime actor and here he definitely excels. Will be watching more Kurosawa in the future!

Having not seen any, I dove into the works of Akira Kurosawa this week and watched 4 of his best films. I was blown away by how modern they felt despite these films all being 70 ish years old. From the cinematography to the acting, it has been a masterclass is filmmaking.
