I decided to start a Shiny Professor Oak Challenge! I've been watching Johnstone's challenge live and got inspired to join in the rooftop grind. Managed to get myself a shiny Flabebe last night! 1 down, a ton more to go!

I wanted something other than Cyndaquil so my 2 playthroughs would be different, so I traded over the Cyndaquil and reset for a new starter. I managed to get this Chikorita tonight after 1728 total seen!

Okay, 2025 must be my year! Got a 2nd HeartGold in the mail and decided I wanted another Johto starter, and I ended up getting a Cyndaquil after 798 seen!

My luck as been absolutely insane! Decided to hunt for a Kanto starter on my new Fire Red while hunting Mr. Pokemon's Togepi in HGSS and managed to get this beautiful shiny Charmander after only 298 SRs! Time to beat Brock and figure out my next Fire Red hunt! :D

Shiny Kyogre in Sapphire after 4,420 SRs!! Was quad hunting with two games on Groudon and two on Kyogre.

I have a video but it's actually like 144p quality so idk if I'll post it anywhere. I have a new webcam coming in case I hunt more in the future!

@str3ssIsReal One of my Ruby files was insanely lucky and got a Trainer ID of 00000. It does absolutely nothing for you other than looking cool when you look at your Pokémon’s summary screen.

Was feeling nostalgic this weekend and picked up a new copy of Heart Gold so I could play through it again. Ended up getting a cool trainer ID and started some resets. I found this guy after only 120 total Johto Starters seen! :D

@str3ssIsReal It’s just a sort of ritual myself and a lot of other shiny hunters did back in the day where we would reset our save files until our Trainer ID was something interesting. Mine on this file is 37773, which I thought was cool because of the 777. Not anything crazy, but still neat!

@GucciBambii I was thinking about Gastly in Sprout Tower, but then I found the Mr. Primo Slugma method on YouTube to get a Magma Armor Pokemon before the Mr. Pokemon Togepi Egg… so I’ve been doing some SRs for Togepi, but if I get bored and want to progress I’ll probably go back to Gastly.
