@CBCMarkQuinn @LisaVDempster Renaming Red Indian Lake is much overdue, but public consultation is required by law, it's an insult to the Beothuk calling it a mi'gmaq name. Mi'gmaq never lived at the lake. "Beothuk Lake" or similar is more appropriate! #nlpoli

@CBCMarkQuinn As an indigenous resident of Red Indian Lake, public consultation is required by law when changing a name, especially with hundreds of residents who live lakeside. It's also more of an insult renaming a word of another indigenous group (mi'gmaq) who never lived at the lake.
