False #EbolaReporting
To Media Houses in the Global North, perspective is key;
1. We are close to 50m of us living in Uganda. Only 15 cases of Ebola have been reported. Only one person died. The rest of us are living normally and responsibly.
2. There are more dying of violent crimes, civil war and traffic accidents in your countries than we are dying of Ebola
3. In your countries, you are contracting sexually transmitted diseases & NCDs faster than Ebola is spreading in Uganda
3. Our team of scientists & surveillance systems have built capacity to respond over decades of managing these situations. Has some respect for us.
4. Polite reminder-we coped better with Covid 19 than you did. Be humble
5. A simple online search will show you the geography of Uganda & DRC. Do the work

@AfricaCDC. Your reporting is becoming problematic than Ebola itself. Just to remind you that Uganda is a sovereign country don't bundle us with other countries. Uganda has 8 reported cases all on treatment. All contacts have been traced. This to remind you that your an African Union institution that respect member states. @_AfricanUnion@NuursViews

One of the core and fundamental principles of Journalism demands that you disseminate accurate information. Stop bundling two countries with different statistics together. Your reports are causing huge damage and fear worldwide for no reason. Unless you are ignorant enough to think all African states are the same. As one of the top News channels you need to DO BETTER! Your malicious intentions will not be tolerated and you will face repercussions if you continue to misinform the public on this issue!
In remembrance of a friend, mentor, colleague, relative and leader, today @UDigitalSociety launched the annual memorial for John Babirukamu and as the Director Learning and Education at the society I was to present the John Babirukamu Mentorship Program with 133 mentees and 43 mentors registered for Cohort 1.
John stood by mentorship and bringing others in the digital sector to the table and this mentorship is aimed to sustain those things he believed and acted upon passionately with grey conviction.
We were blessed to have experienced him the way we did.
