Just because it says in this really small sample of children that the majority persisted, that does not mean any children underwent anything unethical. They just asked them about their identification and observed factors predicting continued gender dysphoria.

It doesn't mean that all interventions should be withdrawn. An ethical doctor would only suggest what they believe would be helpful to their patient.

It seems that more should have been done to work out how to best help her when she was a child. I can only imagine that her parents were involved in the decision-making process when she was a child.

If the medical profession tries to profit out of the distress of children, that can't be a good thing. The medical professionals have another account of what happened. They are not in the video.

Puberty results in body changes that may increase the child's distress. It's about harm reduction. Love and understanding are going to help too.

The most important irreversible change that medical professionals are trying to deal with here is suicide. The medical services she mentions sound like they could do with review and reform but her experience isn't typical.

Puberty blockers are prescribed to delay the onset of puberty and give the young person more time to determine how they identify. Therapy is offered alongside.
