The outer rainbow has its colours in reverse.

A primary rainbow forms when sunlight reflects once inside raindrops. A secondary bow comes from two internal reflections, sending light back at a different angle and reversing the colour order. Look for red on the inner edge of the fainter, outer arc.

These ripples are shockwaves from two jets flying faster than sound.

In this 2019 NASA image, the T-38s were roughly 30 feet apart. Schlieren photography makes normally invisible changes in air density visible. The colors were added to the composite; the shockwave interaction was captured during real flight.
