@gator_gum Actually, Carney said “These are Muslim values, these are Canadian values” which is again, not verbatim but could be interpreted as the same thing.
@gator_gum@MarcNixon24 There’s really no way to know that. One thing that points to you being wrong is, Trump has better relationships with right leaning leaders over left leaning leaders. Poilievre may have had a better chance with his nationalist views over Carney’s globalist views.
@maria_leah385@guyfelicella ** not free, taxpayer funded to the tune of about $6000 annually per taxpayer.
Also - health insurance is a thing in the USA. Actually, about 90% or Americans have some kind of health insurance.
ALSO - Less than 4% of mothers pay full price for their delivery.
@guyfelicella@maria_leah385 You’ve probably already paid that in taxes over the years… Actually:
“Roughly $6,000+ per Canadian in public (tax-funded) healthcare spending per year as of recent estimates (2024–2025)”
Unless you don’t pay taxes of course.
Americans can also get coverage for this stuff.
@gator_gum Since Carney is the PM, that is the way it will be - do you know a time in history when an Official Opposition leader inked a Federal deal? You’re highlighting something kind of obvious and stupid to even mention.
@NSToday957 I can’t believe people think this bailout is a good thing. It’s bad & so hypocritical from their pov. I thought you hated billionaires & wanted to “stick it to them”/“make them pay”. This is a complete backpedal from that mindset, but because Carney is doing it, must be ok 🙃
@NSToday957@danahlstrand “I’m Chris & I’m right” — so if he’s not right, then who is going to pay the overage beyond the lowered rental amounts?
Property taxes, insurance, water, electricity, etc. the rental rates will not cover everything, including the annual increases. HUGE DEFICIT
@NSToday957@danahlstrand Carney buying these units at developer prices is basically market manipulation in a supply & demand system. Our housing prices will not fall if government is buying at inflated prices, that will just maintain the high prices.
